My fiance plays a 78 warlock. Last night in Lyceum, she parsed a zonewide 700-something. The other warlock hit 1100-ish. My assassin hit 2100. Our guild isn't the biggest, baddest, most-uberest raiders, if you can't tell. Looking to fix the disparity, even within our relatively small DPS ranges, I told her I'd do some legwork and figure out what's different. Her gear is decent-ish (all Legendary from RoK), she's got all Ad3s, but something's going on, I'm guessing, with spell orders. She says things die before the she gets many spells off.

My question is, what are warlocks doing to get their parses higher? Is it a spell order? I saw a thread (http://www.eq2flames.com/warlocks/17...-vs-parse.html) about spell order, but the author of the post (second page) with a spell order list based on number of mobs in the encounter says that it's not really a list to be used to maximize DPS, unless I'm misunderstanding him.

I'm putting together a list or two to take home and compare with what she does. If you guys could help out and post up your spell order for kill-it-now-make-it-die situations it'd be much appreciated. Please don't abbreviate spell names, because I play an assassin and I have no idea what the spells do in the first place, much less what they are commonly shortened to. :D

Also there is a aa spec that helps every few minutes with short fights, which if she's not getting alot of spells off that would help her, focussed casting, how many aa and what is she doing with them?

She's specced her AAs towards soloing (for now), since she has a bitch of a time killing things by herself and she wants to get the quests done. Of the 100-ish she's got, I think she's taken the 10 points to Magi's Shielding in the Warlock tree (along with many others), and the STA line and I think another line (I think WIS) in the Sorcerer tree. I don't know exactly which ones she's got.

well that hurts alot, for example i was soloing unrest last night and got called for contested mayong and i lost the parse when there was no other mage dps other then enchanters in the raid bc i was specced that way, if you could afford it get a mirror

Group make up can have a big effect on her dps and on how hard she can go and my spell rotation changes slightly depending on that.

not sure who thinks what would be best group set up i know im currently in a stacked grouped most of the time wiz/wiz/me/trouby/illus/fury
only downside is having to deal with 2 wizards using Rays, and rays sadly takes longer to cast then distortion and ive seen maybe a 15k rays and ive seen distortion hit for 13.8k, sometimes i try to cancel it but something im just like whatever

time it right, should never have distortion up when rays coming in... rays should hit during the crappy portion of your rotation

i cant time it and distortion is on a 7 second timer, and they do ROD back to back with 2 wizy's and sometimes distortion gets off if im lucky and they wait a second but there's no way i can get armageddon off, the only time i like ROD is with TC or if i have Focused Casting up
Edit: Also Distortion hits for almost 14k at times and the highest ROD ive seen is 15k, and RoD takes longer to cast...so if i time it enough i just cancel it

I'm guessing RoD (no wizzy in raid ... yet) is a PITA when it comes to timing with big nukes/Dots? kinda wondering about it now..
