Nil Crystals - Use there of...

Ok, so I was just reading the post about weather Nil Crystals should be ditched from the game and people are talking about farming these things. I must be missing something huge here because casting my normal spells I end up with 100's of these things and just destroy them because I get them faster than my spells consume them. Someone said they give group power but other than the mana syphon I dont understand how? and that spell or any other dont seem to use up as many of these things as I am getting from casting debuffs.

My normal cast in a group is something like this

All Debuffs > Reduces Hate > Cook Armegeddon > Nuke

What am I missing about Nil Crystals? other than my spells using the odd one here and there I dont understand how someone could use 100's of these in a raid and need to farm them before hand.

Again, any pointers appreciated!

say you are raiding.. we have 3 spells that use nil crystals Bertox Gift, Netherbeasts, and Rift, meanwhile only haveing 2 spells that give us crystals in return...during the course of a night, if you want to reach your max dps, you can and will use more nil crystals than you can hope to get during a raid. thats not even including wipes, using multiple spells on the same encounter, avatar fights, ect. so overall i use 50-75% more crystals than i gain in a night forcing me to have to farm the shit outta grey mobs or doing instances to make up for all the ones I use.....i hope this helps you realize the shittyness of nil crystals.

I've wanted these damn things removed since day 1. The concept of having to gather an item to be able to cast a spell is just a major annoyance and I hate having to spend time killing groups of grey cons to get enough to last a week or two. Even if I did cast my debuffs during raids I'd still lose more than I gained, and my dps would suffer slightly.

Remoooove them!

The more attention we give to it the sooner the development team might review the Nil Crystals and finally do the sensible thing and take them out of game.

wish it was like T5....where it never consumed the item but allowed you to cast the spell!

maybe allow us to put it in our ammo slot or something so we dont have to worry about them anymore!

Its annoying as all hell having to spend several hours in BSV farming Nil Crystals, but now matter how much we /petition it SOE will never fix this. It wouldn't be them to Fix something to benefit us *shrugs*

All I know is it took forever for them to address anything about Wizards when we raised any issues. I was a wizard from 2004 until the release of ROK. The first change we got was in LU 13. After that more involvement has occurred in the wizard community and dev's seemed to take notice more to those issues making it an enjoyable class to play. That community has grown by leaps and bounds since T5. Regardless, of losing Renaven and some other good wizzy contributors.

The warlock community is very small and dwindling even more because of the recent nerfs. Because of that we just don't get the same attention by dev's to improve on our class. I do like the warlock because of the multi-mob encounter capability and the single target capability. The only problem is there are few encounters in ROK that have a lot of mobs to blow away. Regardless, you can still do some good DPS even after the recent nerfs. Its just some minor things like Nil Crystals that need to be worked out to make the class as fun to play as a wizard. The wizard doesn't really have an annoyance equal to the Nil Crystal in my opinion and warlock's should be handled the same. Wizard's pro's outweigh the Warlock's by far in regards to the two seperate classes after playing both.
