A lot of it depends on the fight...ALWAYS precast Gift of Bertoxxulos...the lil stuff that helps ur dps, Then i open up with Acid sotrm depending on fight, but usually i will use my Vacuum Chamber then open up my single target and armageddon stuff ECT, depends on how much dps your guild puts out...In <black> we kill shit really fast and I have to change my spell order according to what mob it is..if its a AE mob ECT.

In the current threads on spell order for single targets I am not seeing any mention of using Absolution or upheaval. My spell order is pretty close to what has been shown here other than using absolution as much as I use distortion and upheaval when it is up.

Very seldom am I able to break 4000 on single targets. I have only the Master II dps spell on Absolution with everything else being adept III. In raid my normal cast time is showing at 40 with spell crit at around 70% and plus spell damage at about 675. As a rule I am close to the cap on Intel. I am normally in a mage group with a troubadour and an illusionist and I usually get TC. The swashies and assassins always parse from 4000 to 6000 and I come in between 3000 and 3600. What am I doing wrong? Is it the lack of masters and gear or should I stay with the rotation that worked in tier 7 which was dots and more dots and stay away from upheaval and absolution.

I do not believe it the latter since I always run a parse on a separate computer and parse lower when not using those two spells. Groups of course there is not a problem other than staying alive.

Feel free to check my gear on eq2 players.

Any help would be appreciated.

Absolution wasn't in the list that i gave... but I do use it pretty much every time it is up. The list i gave was my cast order (pre-44)

Workn on redoing my cast order, did one that I liked a lot in SoH today which let me hit 7k single target. With the 2set bonus i've moved armageddon up in the rotation to get it out 2 times in one fight.

Netherealm and Gift won't aggro mobs if you precast them on the pull. Noticed on your earlier list you whern't doing this.

that's because i want to get the full duration of both spells and since acid storm is a longer cast time i can use the time that the mob is getting to the raid not as dead time, but as time waitn for a long spell to cast itself.

Only times that I pre-cast those spells is if it is on a large encounter (will want mid fight time spent on big encounter dmg spells) or if the fight will be short

I usually time them so they start ticking just as the mob hits the raid. When I drop in Acid Storm I usually throw up focused casting first, so it fires off pretty fast.

IMHO put gift of bertox #1, arma (with freehand) closer to the start (like right after debuff) so its back up faster, and distortion (my recast is like 6 sec) before the small dots. just saying my distortion hits for 12k, i want it down as much as possible. And putting GoB that late in your order robs you of 3 triggers on it to the whole encounter you are fighting. I also don't see absolution in there at all, why? Aura of void is waaay to late, you want that casted any time its up, considering it procs off of any spells cast in your group/your spells/your raid. if you cast it uh 2nd it'll be back up for another 3 triggers (about 5k dmg) by the time you get to the small dots. I'll post my cast order here shorty...i'm doing 3500ish without an illy or bard.....
