Default Investing in a warlock

Hey there!

Just a simple thing: is it worth as of now, doing a warlock up from scratch with raiding in mind?

I've heard a few anti-warlock and pro-wizzie stuff about, and just wondering. Betraying is not an option. I want to learn my class from scratch up and stick with it.

I guess nobody can really say if it *is* worth my time. Just want to hear the voices of the comunity. No flames. Thanks.

yes it's worth it. I am a wizard, and have no problems when my lock brothers shine. 5+ mobs are a warlocks playground, not mine.

maybe there are a shitload of single target fights -right now- but we all know that will change eventually. Anyway, locks still kick ass in a few areas in Rok. Avatar fight add groups, Overking, some other stuff...

If you're bad ass you'll be wanted. That aint gonna change.

No doubt the propagations nurf hit us in terms of group buffage but we still hold our own on single targets and will remain kings of encounters.

As far as end game:

Byzola (groups of adds)
Trak (single mob)
Tangrin (single mob)
Avatars (groups of adds)

Anything other than this content is random burning and raid guilds need to focus on what they need for these encounters listed.

Locks still have their place and like SacDaddy said, "If you're bad ass you'll be wanted. That aint gonna change."

Yeah.. im not one to bitch to much.. ok.. well maybe at time.. but still a 'lock and imo if you suck at playing nothing is going to change. PvE is different than PvP, but overall if your good at your class, esp if it is a warlock, you'll know right away and so will everyone else. Hard to teach those who have been burned by bad warlocks in groups (i have shown them the light!), esp. when in certain zones that have group mobs (some think that all 'locks aoe when more than one are in an encounter). But if you stick with it, you'll reap the rewards. I would follow the advice of Saltaf and a few others in this forum, but there are some sticky spots in lvl's that i had a hard time with (pre-KoS and EoF) but with the amount of zones it will be hard to get bored with lvling.

Wizards are far more fun to play. And better. Ive played both end game. Never leveled a warlock to 80 though. That might be fun?

i dunno, pulling full rooms in sos and burning down in under 30seconds was fun... tank gettn lazy and not gettn heals and dying in 2 seconds however... not so fun.

but in the end

Warlock > Wizard

It's a riot to level one to 80. While levelling you can often run into encounter groups. I love seeing

mobx was killed by Foster.
moby was killed by Foster.
mobz was killed by Foster.
moba was killed by Foster.
mobb was killed by Foster.

spam scrolling up the screen. I've had group members say "Gee, Foster, leave some for us."

You die a lot, but usually it's your own fault for cutting loose a little early. The end game is tougher, though. There are fewer encounter mobs, and I have epic envy. It seems that the game is designed for Wizards.

Edit: It's a riot levelling one to 70 I should have said. 70 to 80 I can not comment on.
