8sec reuse on distortion
45sec on boi

100% recast:

4sec on distortion
22.5sec on boi

Due to vp set legs for wiz, they are most likely at 22.5sec on boi just as we are at 22.5 on armageddon w/ vp 2set.

Overall dmg bump over time is not much different. However, when you think about cast times it boosts BOI a lot more.

Yes, it boost the dps efficiency of BOI more, but since you cast it 1/5 as often, that's only relevant if you have very short fights with long intervals of dead time between the fights. Or if the wizard gets jcaps and the warlock doesn't, I guess, lol. Overall efficiency boost is the same based on casting whenever it is up (which should be basically true for distortion).

I ran the numbers quick and dirty on these robes with my spreadsheet, and keeping in mind I don't have procs in yet, and haven't fully ironed out the spell rotation, the Robe of Hatred wins for dps by about 0.7% dps, equal to about 3% crit advantage.

This is using 80% cast haste, 40% recovery, 1220 INT, 44% base mod, 1000 +SD, and 95% crit with Hatred, and adjusting up to 99% crit and 1065 +SD for Dark Power, while dropping the +550 to Distortion.

The boost of +550 to Distortion adds roughly +2.3% dps overall if you are casting it basically every time it's up (you more or less should be). That's equivalent to about 9% crit boost to dps. It adds roughly 900 actual damage average to non-debuffed mobs (at 95% crit and other stats listed above).

EDIT: Hmmm, I'm adding the 550 in a way that will cause base dmg % mods to modify the 550 up higher... is that right? Or would it be added after the base dmg mods?

On a side note, someone said 'up to xx damage' always means it adds to base damage of the spells? I need to check a few tooltips out...

Actually Saltaf you're wrong on the Distortion reuse. The base reuse is 12s. That means no AAs in the sorceror agi tree and no AAs in the warlock tree for Distortion which has cast speed and reuse enhancement in it. So the lowest you can bring it down to with more reuse stuff like unkempt earring, mythical and t8 alkabor robe is 6s.
Which makes you can cast about 3.5 distortions in between 2 bolts of ice for the wizard. Guess what, this makes the distortion boost pretty much equivalent to what wizards gain overall from the 2k BoI.

P.S. LightCC, you seem to think you're the big shit with all your maths but you're full of shit. First of all, most wizards are capped on reuse on BoI just as we're capped on reuse on armageddon and 95 per cent of the other spells speaking for myself, wizards only want jcap for fission, manaburn and ice lash. Sometimes you need brains first before maths.

If you are talking about Saltaf's comparison between the two spells, I was just using his numbers. And I know I'm not the big shit, I don't have the uber lewts like you so my Distortion is not reuse capped yet. As for my 'maths', I'll take them over guessing and hoping anyday. I suppose when I have info or ideas about questions people ask I could just sit back and make fun of them like everyone else here who's bored with the game. My apologies for trying to contribute.
