Default When do you debuff?

I was wondering, how / when do you decide if it is worthwhile to use our debuff on the mobs?

I'm not looking for a raid, heroic, or non heroic specific answer.

Currently, if the fight lasts over 20 seconds, the mob is red, or yellow and heroic, I'll try to remember to debuff. Otherwise I'll skip it.

However, I've seen some people claim that they always debuff the mob, no matter what. I also myself have to claim I don't see a big difference unless the mobs are red. Red mobs the debuffs help against resists. Yellow mobs, maybe the debuffs help our spells land harder but I'm not noticing a big differences.

Does anyone have any suggestions or thoughts?

Default Re: When do you debuff?

I acid storm on pull most of the time and then I hit my nox debuff depending on how long the fight will be. Very short fight, don't use. Long fight I use it. Any dps I may lose from it will be gained by other's dps in the raid from the debuff.

My opening sequence usually includes Vacuum Field:

Acid Storm > Acid > Vacuum Field

If it lands I don't worry about refreshing it until I am at a point in my rotation where I can cast it without losing DPS (which isn't often) and only if it will last for it's full duration.

I only bother with curse of humility on hard fights, and only so the mob is gimped to the max.

I never use Curse of Luclin (ever).

I debuff when the mob sends me a tell saying "Yo, duder, I'm about to resist your freehand armageddon so debuff me!"

Jokes aside, I open up with Acid storm then hit the debuff, and start pounding away pretty much there and then. Our Brigand dispatches damn quick so if my debuff doesnt land it aint that big of a deal.

Dont bother casting Curse of Lucin or Curse of Void as such previously by others.

Always debuff on pull, no point doing it half way thru the fight unless ur raid doesnt debuff /lol

I usually use my noxius debuff as the first opening spell against any mob I encounter, the casting time isn't very long anyways so it doesn't hurt. Plus you'll damage more. The rest of our curses just plain sucks really, both PVE and PVP wise and I really hope SOE will change 'em.

Change debuffs? Are you fucking serious? How long did it take them to get rid of the nil crystals.... /cringe

The STR/INT buff is fine. Throw in removals AAs and master debuffs for 148. Easy to tell the difference solo'ing, and not sure exactly how much effect it has in raids but throw it any encounter the healers have troubles.

Curse actually has a noticible effect solo'ing (it doesn't break root and basically reduces the number of spells required to kill normal mobs from like 5 to 4), it also used to reduce HP of raid mobs by roughly 1% in T7 (a 10k hit was at least significant then), but the increase in HP with current raid mobs has far outstripped the increase for T8 curse.

Especially since this no longer generates nil crystals and because the power effect is basically useless, they need to retool curse. I like the idea of what they did with the Illy's spells that had power proc - change that part to damage or something, and maybe make this a blue aoe instead of encounter - a quick casting medium damage aoe with medium recast timer would fill in a void I feel in our blue aoes...
