Surge of Ro sounds like it only should increase the base damage of the area spell itself - otherwise it's gonna be insanely powerful and completely broken if it would boost any spell landing on the enemy standing in the Surge. Although considering how they hate warlocks as compared to wizards...
As for the final abilities (DD for Locks and DoT for Wizzies), it would be nice to see some real numbers, in comparison with a couple of staple spells (basic nuke, for instance). If this is the spell damage for a "naked" lvl 80 character - it still doesn't look good enough to me, but if it's for a geared character, when a Distortion lists 6K+ spell damage оn high, these abilities are a silly joke.
