Default Shiny Metallic Robe

This is a reward from the "Trail to the Past" HQ. The stats overall are lower then the robe I was wearing from RoK (I was wearing the shit fabled robe from Maidens).

What interested me of course is the proc that increases casting speed by 100% for 10 seconds.

I'm not quite sure if it's going to end up being better for me then what I was already wearing, but I intend to run a few raids wearing it just to see how it effects my DPS.

Anyone else test this thing at all? The only real downside i can see atm is the lack of reuse/recharge. 100% casting speed means shit if nothing is up.

even with 100% fast cast and 0 reuse should always be something to cast, even if it is something stupid like netherbeast, power feeds or concussive.

it is a good robe, but as you get more fast cast gear naturally it's usefulness will diminish... plus as warlocks we have Focused casting for the main part of our rotation anyhow... makes fast cast less important for us than our wizard counterparts.

Oh, I agree. I'm kinda sitting on the fence right now over how useful this thing will even be if at all.

The proc is capable of refreshing itself and seems to have multiple chances on AE encounters. Not to mention Ancestry/Blessings and Harmonization making it an 11s buff. Focused Casting doesn't hold a candle to that.

Some players might bot against encounters but it seems like he bots the encounter design!

The extent of the testing I've been able to do is VS the training dummy - single target.

But multi-target having extra chances makes perfect sense.

The questline details aren't fully up on EQ2i (As of last night at least). The quest is also a bit buggy. If anyone has any questions as to what I did to finish it, just respond to this thread or shoot me a PM.

Where ever the t7 robe of alkabor falls on the scheme of gear choices, I'm sure you could basically replace this with it. Despite slight differences among the two. They each have their own properties that even it out. Only thing you truly don't get from this over old alkabor is the better resist chance for spells but, I've chain resisted spells with alkabor up so, whatever thats worth. IMO t7 alkabor/metalic > SoH sorc robe > t8 alkabor. (no im not counting fabled set peices). But yeah if your totally shit out of luck for cast speed the alkabor/shiny robe proc will be awesome no doubt.

My favorite part about it is though, if you check the graphic icon for Robe of Al'kabor, it looks like a shiny metallic robe.
