Wanted???

I love the warlock class, I have an 80 coercer on befallen and a 32 warlock. What I want to know is why does everyone say that warlocks are not wanted or needed? I am in a great raiding guild and our warlock is always top two dps in a raid. I know that there are a lot of players who do not know how to play the class and thus it gives all locks a bad name. The biggest thing I want to know is when I get my lock to 80 will it be just as easy to join a raiding guild as it was for my coercer? I know chanters have it easy because there are so few of us but I also see in chat everyone asking for dps. Is it really all that tough for warlocks to get great raiding spots and groups?

DPS classes are a dime a dozen. It will always be hard to find a raiding guild as a DPS class because there are so many of them, and not enough spots.

Thanks Pinski.....I have also seen Illy's out dps locks too...Strange I know, But I think it comes down to the fact that a lot of locks on my server do not play the class well.

Actually its alot less of how well you play your class, and more like what kinda gear you have access too and are willing to go out and get....

It's probably a combination of both.

There's a lot of shitty Warlocks out there because it's a DPS class, while Illusionists, not as many because it wasn't initially a DPS class.

There's only so much dps, a dps class can do in legend and ad 3's.

For DPS classes gear is everything, I dont care how well you mash buttons; timing, buffs and efficiency will only get you so far.

Then again maybe alot of the skill is knowing what gear to use and when, and putting in the time to actually get it.

I really like this xpac, lots of linked encounters. I wonder how some instances even get cleared without atleast 1 warlock.

Well, the problem is a lot of people just don't do that. The Sub-1k Mage parse in an instance group sums it up.

There are very few of any class type that are needed by any of the good guilds, as for wanted? Either bard class can find a guild rather quickly, illusionists are usually always being recruited because a four chanter set up is most efficient usually. Sometimes guilds will go through periods of time looking for Inquisitors or Mystics worth a damn.

But like has been said, the only way to get into a guild that is progressing is by already having a stable base of gear or knowing someone in the guild that can vouch that you aren't an idiot.

Best way to do that is to learn as much of the timing and casting orders for your class as you can, run instances with people in the guild you're trying to get into and have standing offers to buy the gear you need to be able to compete with anyone who can clear the raid zones.

Okay so if you take a Illy and a Lock both geared the same and same player skill which one will dps higher?

The lock by a fair margin if both are grouped right.
