What first, crit, +spell, casting, reuse....?
So im playing my first caster as a Warlock since my return after a 1.5yr break, just hit 73 and as i start running some TSO instances to gear up for raids would like to know what stats to focus on first... I have read the Wizard thread on DPS and it makes sense, but i never found a suggestion on whats the best order to focus.
So without raids theres pretty much:
-intel
-crit
-crit bonus
-+spell damage
-+base damage (hard to find on non raid gear)
-reuse
-casting
My first thought is Intel + crit, then spell damage, followed by casting/reuse. (increase base damage would top all im guessing but dont expect to see a lot)

I went down strength first, for spell crits then Agi. This is just what I did. not saying its right or wrong.
You don't really have to worry about int, since base stats are such a minimal factor in our class.

You only get 14.4% with 8 points, which helps but isnt a game breaker.
Plus quest mobs even with mastercrafted gear don't last very long.
But like I said, I'm not claiming to be right!

Base dmg > Casting > crit chance > crit mod > reuse > spell dmg > intel
Generally speaking
intel and crit chance for high end players is ignored most of the time because we sit at cap w/o bothering to go for it.
Damage procs all depend on procs per min and amount of dmg done.

GEAR: What first, crit, +spell, casting, reuse....?
Im referring to gear, not AAs. AAs are easy because theres really a cookie cutter approach once you have 200 AA. Im referring to gear and how i should dress pre-raid gear.

Well pre raid gear you're just gonna have to stick with crit gear since that is all there really is, most base comes from raids.

T2 and T3 sets are pretty good, also shiny metallic robe imo.

I have found I do more DPS wearing LootDB.com | EverQuest II Item Database - Crimson Robe of Alendine on average, about 400 to 600 more then when wearing my T-2 Chest piece. Just throwing it out there since I haven't seen it mentioned, it's lvl 70 and easy to get. |
