Default RoK Soloing

Let me start out by saying that I did search and read before I decided to post my question, so I do apologize if this has been discussed elsewhere.

Right now I am playing a level 50 warlock and really enjoying it. I am soloing most of the time and plan on continuing to do so most of the way to 80. The mobs around my level are so weak I don't have to worry about rooting them at all.

I know that once I get into RoK solo content I am going to have to rely on the root to kill mobs. That being said, could someone recommend a casting order that would be beneficial for killing solo mobs in RoK? I am assuming I'd want to avoid smaller dmg/dot spells to avoid breaking root a lot but I'm not really sure.

Thanks in advance!

Root + Distortion / Apoc / Absolution

Save Ice Flame and Encase for "Oh shit" moments like resists.

Like you said, avoid using dots(not including Apoc..)
Other then that just use big direct damage shit, dist/abso etcetcetc.
Basically what Syndarin said!

I would avoid using Apoc for root rotting mobs. I've got killed at least fifty times because of DoT breaking root, recast, broke it again next tick.

sub-80 Warlocks are too squishy to be fuckin' around with trying to land root after root

you have 2 roots. try keeping them both on the mob. when you see 1 expire or get hit off. recast.i only use 1 or 2 nukes so i dont over cast and break my roots super fast. and if both are down and your break root. use your stuns and pray.
