See, thing is...we were directing him to the training dummies to see if we could get him to work on his abyssmal casting order and get it into some semblance of something close to just decent. Now, I will admit, I'm not the most knowledgable when it comes to the warlock class as I couldn't tolerate it past about level 20. I do, however, know that any warlock worth a shit should be able to do more than 4K DPS in raid with an optimal group, decent gear, and 17whatever AA points. I've also directed him here to see if he could find a decent casting order to work off as a model and to tweak to his needs.

So, if you can help my poor warlock learn to play his class, I would be most appreciative. As apparently, he can't seem to do it himself nor can he handle our 'trying to be nice way' about telling him that his DPS absolutely fucking sucks and to fix it.

I've been helping him, now if you want to put the blame on me so be it but I've told him what aa he needs to get first/why... What gear/why, which casting order and why.
So unless he is just pretending to listen or what, I can't control that but help has been thrown out to him a lot.
I will tell you this now, he doesn't have his vp nor tso 2 set so that is fucking his dps pretty bad but if hes getting tc/troub/tandem he should have no problem doing 4k.
I'll try harder to work with him....
But on a dummy, parsing is totally irrelevant so that was a terrible idea on your part, ma'am.

Of course I wouldn't blame you In fact, I very much appreciate your assistance. Is there a better place he should be working on casting order, etc. instead of on a dummy? Because if you have suggestions, I am all ears!

In raid would be the best option. There is no substitute for the raid environment. The groups,buffs, and encounters all have a major impact on dps. It's quite possible his casting order is fine, but how he implements it with what group he's in and the mobs script could be off. Another possibility is perhaps his comp/connection isn't up to snuff and he's dealing with lag issues that limit him, if this is the case then there's no easy fix. There's also the possibility that he's just not going to be very good, some people can, some people can't.

If berrbe is helping him you can be sure he's getting a boatload of spot on information. But all the knowledge in the world doesn't always translate into real time effectiveness, which I like to call the deusbag effect.
