Default Training Dummy parse question

OK.
I have a question for the experts here.

My raid leader has challenged me to do 6-7k on a training dummy with no outside buffs.

I am doing 3.8k not quite up to snuff.

I have tried 40 different variations on a casting order and I don't get any higher.

My gear is mainly T2 with a sprinkling of better pieces, like a T3 helm and T4 forearms. I have no adornments on it.

My AA, i have the final ones from shadow but I am 3 short of getting propagation back.

What SHOULD i be parsing unbuffed on a training dummy with that kind of setup?

Training dummies are gay and have little/nothing to do with raid parses.

Imobbq.

I agree with Tenneth, how much you can do on a dummy doesn't reflect on how much you'll do on a raid just due to the raid dps, your personal buffs, debuffs. Lot of factors to be counted in but to 'try' and answer your question, in your gear I'd think 5-6k would be a well rounded dummy.

he's being a dick and just trying to get you to find the absolute best you can do solo. Which in a way is dumb because with raid buffs a completely different cast order might produce max dps. As to the training dummy, Spell crit to 100% and all masters and full T3.

Your raid leader may be a dick, but using the training dummy is a viable method for improving and tracking your character. In particular, the training dummy:
  • Gives you an accurate baseline DPS
  • Allows you to experiment with different spell priorities (the best casters don't cast in a fixed order, but cast the most important and available spell or spell combo)
  • Allows you to test the effect of different equipment (although raid buffs make this less useful)
  • Allows you to test the effect of different procs
  • Allows you to show progress
Talk to your raid leader. Does he think your raid DPS is lacking? If so, you need to work on raising it, and starting with the training dummy is one option. You should be able to identify specific pieces of equipment you need to improve your DPS, specific changes to your spell priority, etc to raise your DPS.

LOL That's cute, Nadr. Tell them how much you do with TC and a trouby in raid.

BTW...I can beat your parse with no outside buffs and 5 dummies. Try again.
