Casting speed, reuse reductions, and diminishing returns

I was looking at some numbers on my spell cast/reuse times last night and something just didn't look right. I'm spec'd ATR/AGI and wearing the Ring of the Four Winds. While augmented with TC it did not seem like I was getting the full benefit of it. I saw no difference in my recast timers when I had the ring equipped and unequipped which led me to believe there may be a stacking problem. Either that, or I've hit that cap and diminishing returns have kicked in and I've wasted AA going AGI. I'm wondering if anyone has tested this or noticed a similar scenario. I'm going to see if I can get one of the guild illusionists to help me run some tests with spec/equipment combinations tonight and see what happens. I may try a STR/WIS spec to see if it takes full advantage of TC and increases my dps. Thoughts?

well the ring is only 5% reduction, are you sure you can tell what 5% feels like? Maybe nothings wrong at all

I didn't see any change in the Persona window, nor in examing my spells. I wouldn't post based on "feel".

The RotFW and the SoL do not appear in the Persona window. But the effect is obvious when you inspect your spell's recast/casting before, and after, you equip the items. TC also does not show in the Persona window.

It only appears in your persona window if the reuse/cast mod effects everything, ex. The ring of four winds does not effect ability's hence why it does not show up.

reguardless why u would drop agi line, the spell casting speed alone is better then the entire wisdom tree =-(

I think it is also a matter of your understanding of how to calculate the bonus. It isn't Recast*(1-recastbonus), it is recast/(1+recastbonus).

He's just saying that with Time Compression, Ring of the Four Winds, and a Troub, that you lose many of the benefits that AGI gives you since you might be reaching the point of diminishing returns and reaching the peak. It may be 12% reduction with AGI but it might only be a 3-4% reduction in comparison, in which case the extra DPS WIS gives you might be more beneficial if you can ALWAYS get an optimal group setup.

I'd have to see cast timers and re-use timers both ways though to really tell though.

My illusionist needs a few more AA's for me to get to TC, and I'd have to grab a bard and take some screenshots before and after.

I'll do it though eventually if nobody else does

i guess but its pretty shitty you have to have a group built around u to do dps. IMO you should get a build that is a medium in case someone isnt on that night I.E. illusionist or w/e. but if you wanna start breaking down charts and shit i guess we can call u illuminator 2.0. lawl

doubt i'll get a troub/illy and TC all the time - maybe once in a while - but am just curious to see how it all pans out. I'm just following up on the OP's original remarks
