wow dumbfires really putting out that kind of numbers now, hmm cast times vs dmg kinda turned me off at low lvls but gotta work them in rotation and see how they do.

I have a question. I was fooling around with the item evaluation function on this spreadsheet to decide how to experiment a crafted item and i came across something odd. I found that given my stats, 1 point of CB is better for my Warlock than 1 point of Potency. I'm not an expert lock, but I've always been told that Pot > CB for me. My base (pre-proc, solo, out of combat) CB is 312 and potency 385. Can this be due to difference between the two for me? Should I switch some of my potency procs to CB procs based on this?

It's because of the difference as well as the CB -> Pot conversion yes. I've gone full power yellows and cb reds (except on shoulders) and full cb whites and have for a while now. Gives me like 409cb and 413pot before buffs/procs.

That's what i thought originally.. but then i used the spreadsheet to compare 1cb (which = 1cb + 0.12pot) to 1.12pot instead of 1 pot and the 1cb still came out (very) slightly ahead. I think i just missed the memo on CB being better for warlocks than potency, which i noticed when i looked up a few top end locks. Switched all my reds to CB now and at least one of my procs.

Could be CB multiplying ability mod if the sheet considers that. Also, CB multiplies the damage you get from most procs you receive from other group members while potency multiplies the damage procs you give to other group members.

Bear in mind in a totally ideal world you'd want your crit bonus to be 150 under (to accommodate for the base crit bonus) once fully buffed and fully procced as this will provide the largest hit. With EV, Sanguine, the massive amount of potency effects and the points raised by TheOtherDude and the conversion make cb prolly better. It's hard to judge though, I'm going for it though and you can see the screenshots of possiblly more potency effects coming taken by Mogrim in one of these threads here, some come expac time it should get better. I reserve the right to be wrong.

And yeh the sheet does consider amod being multiplied by cb.

Ok, I am a noob to warlocks so I am curious. ON the spreadsheet I see Fire Seeds and Ethernere Chains as very high up on spell efficiency, but no were in my spell books or on eq2 wikia can I find these spells. What are they?

Ethernere chains is a choice in the heroic tab, but it's not as good as Sanguine, so no one takes it. Fire seeds are made by sages, who have the recipe from Emerald Halls.
It requires 1 seed of growth for 3 scrolls, each giving you 10 casts of Fire seeds when scribed as far as I remember. I also seem to remember the scrolls being heirloom, so
it has to be a consignment craft.

This seems really comprehensive, been playing other games for a couple of years, missed a lot of changes I see. Very helpful for the returning player.

Would there be any interest in an updated version of this?
