Thanks for pointing that out - I am already redoing that section - will probably include some graphs to illustrate this point.

Daray, one more clickie suggestion:

You can get a 'Power root' from a KoS houseplant. its 2 fertilizers, 1 water, 3 bones, check soil. it restores 22% of your power for the t7 one.
The plant will use any that are considered in your inventory, so i just store mine in my shared bank, since it uses them straight from there.

according to a post on our boards, you can have one per tier of an item (7 power roots?!) and that the plant automatically uses the lowest tier fertilizer/water/bones in your inventory. i have not personally tested this, but am about to go try and will reply if i find anything different than what is here.

lvl 5 = 10% \aITEM 2015017245 1225371336:Power Root\/a
lvl 15 = 12% - couldnt find a link
lvl 25 = 14% - couldnt find a link
lvl 35 = 16% \aITEM 37970955 1225371336:Power Root\/a
lvl 45 = 18% \aITEM -1406405222 1225371336:Power Root\/a
lvl 55 = 20% \aITEM -2048704152 1225371336:Power Root\/a
lvl 65 = 22% \aITEM 730583289 1225371336:Power Root\/a

Tier= Fertilizer / Water / Bones
10 = Peat / Rancid / Sm decaying
20 = AmmonusSulfate / Stale / Lg decaying
30 = Muriate / Pond / Sm polished
40 = Diatomaceous / Fresh / Lg polished
50 = Ammonium / Pure / Sm meaty
60 = Sm bag guano / Aerated / Meaty
70 = Compost / Enchanted / Lg meaty

Ok, gonna post this with the right account this time. (im on morgs puter, not used to having to log someone out of forums i read and log myself in)

I tested, and with the exception of t6, due to lack of fertilizer on the broker, i was able to get one of each tier power root. very cool.

the lvl 50 stuff should be Ammonium Nitrate.

hope this helps anyone, n sorry if theres any confusion (im in trouble when he gets home im sure )

Thanks for the guide, really seems to be everything you need to know as a raiding wiz. Just a small point but you may want to add that another reason to upgrade spells to master is they have less chance to be resisted so it should up your real world damage increase % over the 14% theoretical increase. Should be more noticeable on orange con mobs. Not that raiding wizards need to be told to upgrade their spells =p

Would +25 Elemental Adorns on your Secondarys be better?

i'd disagree with that statement now if the figures i came up with above are close to correct (1% crit = +15 spell damage for wizards using an optimal rotation).

interested to see what numbers other people came up with for this

I'd still go crit, there is more to it than those numbers show. There are a decent amount of ae encounters in the game, the more targets the better crit is relative to boe.

Eh, it's not even about the AoEs imo.

My math is slightly different when comparing crit to BoE (as mine is 1% = +22 on the dot.) And +25 would technically beat +1%... if you were not figuring procs take on the same chance to crit as the spells you cast.

From that assumption, I just took all of the available procs to me during a given raid (ex. Syn, BCG, etc.) and figured the approx dmg gained from 1%. The dmg gained from the procs pushed crit to be slightly more valuable than a straight BoE increase. Just from crits affecting procs.

This creates a problem of individualizing character templates, since everyone's gear and raid setup will differ. For example, if your current setup has no proc gear (not sure who's would) and no Bard/Illu, than +25 would beat out the 1% in a majority of the circumstances. However, the more dmg proc gear that a person has, the more indirectly valuable an extra 1% of crit will be.

In the end, I see that the changes have increased BoE's effectiveness across the board. However some classes will invariably benefit more than other classes. Hell, at least it gives us something to argue about now.
