I said this exact comment in beta forums.

I'll get a screenshot of that one item later

When you cast it each mage in group gets interrupted and gets a casting bar for it and casts their own ray.

well... yes. 6 mages in grp=6 mages casting rays. tho in reality there are max 4 mages in a grp (on raids that is).

Don't think the mages have to be in group think it just says 5 nearby mages so I would assume the 5 closest mages in the raid

I don't care what anyone says, Rays of Disintegration is 133754uc3. But the particle effect for it is about as disappointing as they come, weak by even existing standards.

Some players might bot against encounters but it seems like he bots the encounter design!

It affects grouped mages only - notice the Group (AE) as part of the definition in the spell screenshot above.

You are entitled to your own opinion, but im not impressed at all by the damage of this spell.

As far as personal dps efficiency of spells goes, I see this falling somewhere between Ball of Magma and Bolt of Ice - probably much closer to ball of magma than bolt of ice though.

It has an approx 3-4s cast time (i havent sat down and tried to time it so don't know the exact figure). I have screenshotted all our spells above - so feel free to work out where it fits alongside all our other spells as far as damage to casting time (+ recovery) is concerned.

hmm, wel the fact it can't do raidwide is kind of disapointing, because what kind of raid setup group, has a wizard set with 5 other mages. Given its used to its max potential, it should output a nice spike of damage for the raid.

Actually says both, in effects it says group at the top of spell description it just says nearby allies(allies IMO means group and raid), they should change it so it works for group or raid

The stats are inflated way out of proportion to the rest of the game. I was given assurances from other players that adding a new tier would give the developers a fresh start on item design so that the low-ceiling diminishing returns curve wouldn't be burnt away, forcing another tier bump. You can see, this isn't the case.

Rays of Disintegration is a spell we didn't have, and we gain a dps boost vs. every class that doesn't have a matching spell to even the score. It is my tightly held principle that wizards and warlocks ought to always top the parse, and I will never ever ever EVER fall back from that.

Those pants need to be jacked up to around FT50 if they want the item to replace the MO pants for regen as written.

Last but not least, I note that none of the set pieces have skill bonuses. I would love this to be a hint that casting skills are going to hell where they belong, and that damage will purely follow the mitigation model. I can dream.
