I have a few pieces of the blistered strand in my resist gear macros, didn't even notice the mit though. I have 1 click button to bump whatever resist I want to 10k+ or like noxious for doomcoil etc. Could be handy in pvp if you see necro coming at you 1 click buff for his damage style etc. Of course i'm sure not all pvp is 1v1

The best bang for the slot for the 3 pieces:

Shoulders
Pants
Cap

For every other slot, we can find any crits item. But pant crits or shoulders are almost none-existant till you raid RoK.

The cap is perhaps not the best... but he get his crits.

Together, the 3 pieces give the faster casting spells. 5% of fast cast = 10 crits approx.

So, if you get shoulders and pants with crits on them + cap with more crits than the blistered caps... then u don't need the set.

Otherwise, the parse for those slots always seems better with them then without them.

So, if you know where we can find like a +4 crits pants, + 4 crits shoulders and +5 crits cap (the blistered cap got +3 crits if I remember well?), outside of raid, just let me know ;).

The set sucks stats wise... we loose for 3 pieces around 12 int x 3 = 36 int. Since KoS, casting speed > crits (look at all the AA discussion thread of that time) for parsing because speed casting give more procs and a flat % on DPS. While crits at 100% = 30% more dps. So choose your bread and butter carefully.

It isn't for nothing that we see some disso casters wearing the ring of the four winds.

Otherwise, the 3 pieces set + the crimson robe + erudite = 20% fast casting without thinking about AA.

For T7 Raid, without buff I get Bolts of Ice to 2.81 spell cast time.

pants: any pair of pants < temporal foresight pants < VP 3 peice bonus (now you can wear any pair of pants)

Shoulders: megalodon, symbol of the eaten

Head: Nightblack hood, Fuscia Finery > blistered strand cap imo

Nightblack hood and Symbol of eaten will reduce casting time by 7% too =p that set is gimp


I'd probably wear the four winds ring if I didn't get the ToNT set bonus. Though some like it a lot.

Of course, my statement for the Blistered 3 slots are for people that didn't start raiding in RoK. After, raid over there, you will always find better slot.
