Default Critic

I'm very astonished about chances of crit.
I never really paid attention, but yesterday I looked closely at the parse.
2 hours in Sebilis.
My chances of crit are at 40% (tool display)
but Parser show a number around 25%.

Is tool wrong ? or is game wrong with applying chances ?

Welcome to the world of Orange-mobs. Crits are based against a white-con. If you fight anything above your level you will have less crit %, while if you fight anything below your level you will have more crit %.

I'd suspect that's how it's intended to work, but I've been sitting at 50% crit chance for the past two weeks, and regardless of the zone I ALWAYS fall somewhere between 26% and 32% crits on my zonewide. When I say regardless of the zone, I mean RoK heroic instances, and Tier 1 & 2 raid zones.

I wonder if DOTs are skewing the ACT results.

As I recall ACT does not treat DoT ticks as individual spells. Since they apparently fixed Storming Tempest at some point while I wasn't paying attention, there are no DoTs that can crit or proc after the initial cast.

Each tic of a dot is counted seperately in ACT, and when the initial crits all of them crit.

Yes. What it is with dots is that if you use FHS on a dot only the initial damage will get the bonus.

FHS is a base damage modifier - it is applied to each tick of a dot.

I computed critical chances again, but deleting the spells that never crit : Protofire (never never), fire of ro (this one crits.. 5/150) and procs like soul siphon (but absorb vitae crits !) , dynamism

Sebilis and raid zone tier 1 (protector's realm or execution room) I'm at 35% for a theorical 40.

But in sebilis (upper part, much easier) I am also at 35 !
I'll look at coa when I have a log.

Too bad I never met someone with 100% chances to ask what he gets !

Soulsiphon technically crits, but with power drains there is no way in the logs to see whether it crit or not.

QFT. If you have the text color of crits set to a different color than normal damage, you'll see soulsiphon crits. I speculate that when the drain crits the power heal also crits, but I haven't done a controled test to confirm it. This would be consistent with life taps where if the damage component crits the heal component also crits.
