I retract my prior statement, it does count towards cap. Something else must have been fucking with me and I can't figure out what now.

I concluded that it does count towards the cap (on the heroic, I assume the mythical does as well). I used Flames of Velious for my calculations and with the proc I was only getting an additional 75 damage when it should have been 137.

That proc is sooo shitty...I can't believe it.

They need to :

Make the proc not count toward BoE cap
Make double spell work correctly with DoT and RoD
Remplace the +5% power by a -5% aggro or 5% spell haste

And then, I ll be happy

The proc really isn't that shitty. With the amount of base damage increasing shit Wizards can get right now you pretty much can't cap boe on like anything, especially if you are using the best piece of gear for whatever slot.

I second that. You arn't hitting the cap on Bolt of Ice, Ball of Magma, Fission and probably not Magma Chamber. I mean the only way they could make this proc better imo, would be to replace the BoE with a 15 sec, 100% dmg proc for 300 - virtually the same thing except a cap wouldn't be hit. But again, the most important spells topping our parse pretty much receive the full benefit. I am still boggled when I see wizards with WoCP bitching about this 1h, Christ. Even rips Staff of Light a new asshole because 5% cast speed isn't near enough to cover up the 10% base dmg, double attack chance and 8% crit. I could see bitching if it was yet another mage 1h that we have to think carefully before replacing the old, because its that minimal of an upgrade. Just can't please all people I guess.


Oh noes this sucks ass, Ro's Coil is only receiving half the benefit MY DPS IS FUCKED

Ro's Coil isn't even capped because I pretty much guarantee you aren't hitting min and there is enough base damage shit that it gets pretty high.

However the spell double attack is still meh at best. What it does best is skyrocket occasional parses if you don't get raped when you double cast a fission or bolt of ice. For example last night I double cast crit fission on 2 mobs. After the 130k worth of damage it did I was promptly dead. Not to mention the fact that I'm pretty sure it scales against orange mobs and it is actually around 6%.

Would it double cast Wrath of the Burning Prince? There's no real way of testing that, is there?
