Those effects only trigger off melee attacks, so the mob has to be auto attacking you to trigger stoneskin. Wizzy set can go off on ANY dmg and be up for 5 minutes. AOEs, reflects, adds, anything can trigger it so basically it will be up most of the time for 5 minutes just waiting for wizzies to pull aggro and absorb 2 huge one shots .

yeah there are not many raid mobs that hit me for less than 60% health.

Actually, all 3 displacement stoneskin procs work exactly the same - as with the current dispersion procs, they trigger off any damage (except the choker unfortunately :/ )

From a solo / group perspective, this allows "battlemage" types to be somewhat viable tanks. There are currently 4 mage useable dispersion procing items, and now 3 wizard useable displacement procs - which will add up to a lot of stoneskin procs - with the latter only absorbing the higher hits of 60%+.

From a raid perspective, the new displacement proc will increase survivability, by allowing you to eat aoes if you have it up, as well as giving you a chance to drop any unwanted agro. There is also a little hidden "gem" with the use of dispersion style procs on a select few raid encounters that makes your group somewhat grateful (my helpful hint for the day!)

Just a couple ideas for changes:


Chest piece: Change to

Focus: Fission
Removes range restriction, Max targets = 8. It'd be situational for most higher end wizards to wear, yet appealing on larger encounters.

(Though most would still probably wear the Robe of Dark Power, the above at least gives people a reason not to transmute it and carry it for when needed.)

Cuffs: Change to +5 casting speed and +5 Reuse.

(This will allow those complaining about the pants of volatile power to quit complaining and will create a viable part that someone can wear over the lava channeling sleeves. )


6 set bonus: Increase the damage done by Rays by 100% for people to even start considering wearing a 6 piece.

(At its current state no one wants to swap out their legendary solo acquired gear for this effect. Make people least start to debate it.)

Well just some ideas anyway.
