Re: Praetor's Guard
Taldarn,
Even though Pinski didn't see fit to give you the full reasoning, the main reason is that Crits will affect procs as well, if you have a 50% crit, your procs have a 50% crit as well, so the added bonus is that your crit bonus adds to the procs as well. Additionally, you can't just say 1% spell crit = 25 BoE. That number changes depending on the amount of DPS you do, cirt is a direct function of the DPS, and will go up proportionally as you do more DPS. BoE is a static amount of extra damage you add. adding 1% crit to 4k dps adds a different amount of DPS than if you were to add 1% crit to 2k dps, it's a percentage based on a diminishing returns curve as you get to 100% crit. However going from 0% to 1% crit will always be a 0.3% dps boost no matter the base dps. Assuming the same casting speed in the 2k and 4k dps though, the 30 BoE will add the same amount to both cases. if you were to assume an average cast of 2 seconds, 30 BoE would be 15 dps in both cases. In the end, you'd see likely see a better return from the crit adornment, because it doesn't top out as easily as the BoE adornments
