there any common macros I need to know about to maximise my DPS?

still working on gear and working on finding a good spell rotation, im still a bit new to the game (came over from wow a couple months ago) and want to get the best DPS i can.

With my current setup im averaging 3-4k in VP.

I am macroing my freehand sorcery to big spells (bolt of ice, ball of magma) and trying to find the optimal spell rotation.

Any tips or macro examples would be awesome.

And I wouldn't Macro Freehand to any spells. But thats just me.

I wouldn't macro freehand either. We really don't need macros outside of maybe iceshape/velium gift and fireshape/surge of ro.

wait, you guys click Freehand before casting BoI or Fission? o.O

Only two spells I use it with so I just have two buttons above my normal BoI and fission, aka the freehanded versions for when its up.

The only macro I use on raids is for Rays to tell grp that I'm going to fuck with their cast order.

No, I don't macro freehand to either spell. Why? Because you cannot Queue the spell then. I just queue up freehand after whatever I'm casting and as soon as freehand casts I'm hitting the spell I want to cast. I also like to see the reuse on Freehand, because if there is like 2 seconds left before it is up I'll wait to cast whatever until those 2 seconds are up.

I always had Freehand right under BoI. Basically, I would use it with BoI the first time around and then use it with what was up whether it be BoI, BoM, or Fission.

I have freehand up seperately also so I know when it's up/down etc..

I keep em macroed and when its up I just dont queue the next BoI or fission, I hit my macro soon as my last spell finishes and theres no hitting of 2 macros (i have all of my main spells hotkeyed I am not a clicker) and is probably just as fast if not faster than the above mentioned way, so not worried about that.

I use a text macro with rays, I use iceshape/velium gift macros.

i don't see the need for fireshape/surge of ro macros because surge of ro procs off of any hostile spell, not just fire, and I don't spec into fireshape anyways, imo it's a waste, most of our spells are fire anyways.

Surge of ro does not proc off any spell, it only procs of fire.

Why would you not spend one point for fireshape knowing that? Where else are you going to spend that one point?
