I normally always have it equipped unless requested to remove it (ie for particular raid mob) As it is inflicts magic damage, a buffed ward of ages, Magi shielding helps negate some of the damage it inflicts on you.

Well sure, i have the 4 points in Ward of Ages, but taking points in magi's shielding as a raid wizard seems silly to me.

What I'm saying is ... it helps to have magi shielding buffed if your using the choker for pvp/pve/raid, but if you go with the cookie cutter spec it's obviously not encouraged. I'm actually hoping to test out a spec with "gasp" 5 in ages and 10 in magi to see if I can use the choker in a raid without distracting to much of the healers attention. if not I'll stick with the normal raid spec.

In my non manaburn spec I have a few points in Magi shielding seemed like a better payoff than other options i guess I could have maxed out exothermocity or electron storm/fission/solarwind, but not enough AE fights to justify it imho.
