effects of TC : wizard vs warlock
I have some difficulties making my fellow guild Illu to understand that it is better, in terms of raid DPS, to TC a wizard than a warlock, because gain is higher. against solo trash of course.
May be I'm wrong ? I am sure that I would gain more from TC because my castings are slow. But it is very hard to have some true arguments, and numbers that the 3 players can accept.
Anybody knows rather well what both wizard and warlock use and can gain ?

Re: effects of TC : wizard vs warlock
this is not an argument Fomka !
Let's suppose both guys are at 3K, who will gain more ? let's suppose one is at 2.8 and other at 3...
If average casting time of the high damaging spells for warlock and wizard is not identical, may be the one who has got the longest will gain more DPS ?
Of course I don't see any other way of comparing than having some numbers from tests... I started comparing a warlock and me in VP, with and without TC, but it is a long job. My computing in VP yesterday showed me that when Illu joined our grouped, I gained 15% dps (synergism) and warlock 30 (S+TC) but I'll have to do it more times to be sure of the percentages.

If you both are parsing 3k and you have to choose between 1 or the other for TC... it should be given to the person who can parse higher with it from 3k+... if you want to prove something to your illu, start showing him/her parses...or bring it up to the raid leader

Re: effects of TC : wizard vs warlock
good point, that what's I'm looking for, not easy to test who can parse higher, that's why I was looking for statistics. In a raid point of view.
2 years ago some guys were really testing like Illusive.
May be nobody does anymore. Not all are lovers with numbers, enough lovers to spend some hours with ACT comparing and computing.

The statistics wont matter if the person behind the player can't utilize the spell... like i said, it should be given to the person who can parse higher with it... warlock or wizard.. whoever has the skills to get the most out of it. Depends on the player.

OK, I see what you mean now, sorry.
Then the only way to really know is to do what we are gonna do : put the 3 mages in same group, and test against same kind of mob. Once with TC on Wiz once with TC in warl and switch.

Re: effects of TC : wizard vs warlock
Even on AE fights, if your wizard is out parsing the warlock give it to the wizard and get a new warlock. Bottom line run without TC on both and see who does better then put it on that person, be it the lock or the wizard.

you are going to need to go more than just once to figure that out.
The larger the discrepancy is the easier the decision will be. If the lock and the wiz are very close most of the time then just TC wiz on solo mobs and lock on big AE fights like overking.
