Spell Order - How can it be modified?

OK, this is the deal. I used to do decently well in raiding as far as DPS went. I was usually top 5 on the parse, etc. Suddenly one day, my DPS took a nosedive, to the point that I am no longer placed in the mage group. So I was advised to post my spell order in hopes that someone can advise me to altar it a bit.

The following is my spell list in order starting from countdown to the end of the battle. All spells are Adept III, with the exception of my Ball of Flames which is Master I and my solar flare which is Master II. INT is capped when raid buffed. 957 spell mod. Approx. 50% crit buffed. -

*Glacielshield is used every time it is up...as long as I remember. I seem to have gotten very slack about throwing it up every chance I get. That may be a cause of my drop in DPS.

Also, keep in mind that this setup is used on raid encounters.

I have specced fire, ice, velium gift, and Iceshape on my AA line for most efficient spell reuse. So be aware that I NEVER stop to wait for a spell to come back up (For example, my solar flare is back up by the time I'm done casting flames of velious, Ball of Magma, Magma Chamber, etc).

My disruption is VERY low (433), and I rely on raid buffs to raise that up about 480 or so. I haven't had much of a chance to test out my mythical on raids yet as the only fights we have tried since I got it was Nexona, which I was consistantly out of power for not being in the mage group.

Therefore, I can not tell you about what my DPS is now. I can say that on the raid, without being in the mage group, I was parsing 6500-7000 on the specimens in Nexona's Lairs, but these are relitively short fights so I really can't count that as a real parse.

I will update my average raid parse the next time I get the chance. I am going back to Nexona tonight so it probably will not be until tomorrow night that I can update it.

ANY help would be great. You can skip the "Make sure Glacielshield is up". I already that that is a problem and am currently trying to find some way to remind myself of throwing it back up.

Please also, provide a seperate spell order or better positioning of spells if it isn't too much trouble

You are casting Solar Flare way too much, and casting Bolt of Ice way too late.

Your new name shall be Quenthal.

I cast solar flare alot to ensure that I always have spells to cast. But I will try it ;) Thanks

Can you give me a possible better spell order than this? or a better spot to put my BoI?

I don't have any strict order...your order isn't bad until solar flare hits. Once you get there I'd be casting bolt of ice, ball of magma, fission, magma chamber, and pretty much hitting those top ones constantly and using the others in between. Think less of a casting order but, more of having priorities for spells, works out for me.

I would also personally recommend an AA spec where Catalyst is not used. Get end abilities in WIS/AGI and only max STR out with 20 pts to get 8 in the crit AA.

Hmm..I suppose I see what you mean, but if I casted all of my big shit to start off, wouldn't I eventually run out of spells to cast and be left sitting there with my thumb in my ass?

Your casting order could look like this:

Precast Choices: *subject to change depending on situation and what is up*
Velium Gift/Ice Shape
Ice Spears
Storming Tempest
Protofire(ferno) whatever the fuck its called
Glacial Shield

Once the mob gets to you:
Get up behind it and start meleeing the fucker (i usually get between 50-100dps from crushing

Freehand + Catalyst (in your case)
Fission or Bolt of Ice (fission if its up)
Bolt of ice (if you casted fission)
Ball of Magma
Magma Chamber
Flames of Velius
Ro's Coil
Heatwave
Solar Flare
Ball of Magma
etc
etc

There is cast order, there is casting the best spell available.

Precast Glaclialshield, Iceshape, Velium Gift
When the mob is coming in cast Protoferno, Ice Spears, and Storming Tempest.

Then you proceed to cast spells in the following order, casting the one closest to the top of the list that is currently up. You should make sure Ice Spears is always on the mob, and it is a long fight make sure you keep Storming Tempest on the mob. The exception to this is Rays, you generally want to cast Rays when all of your bigger stuff is down.

Heatwave

Flames of Velious
Ro's Coil
Solar Flare
