Imo Sagacity is still a get AA. It has never not been. Ensuring you have power, especially with a manaburn spec, is far greater than a slightly larger ward and 2% more freehand.

However, people need to start thinking about dropping manaburn now. I haven't raided on beta at all, so I can't say for sure, but if content is AE manaburn is not the way to go. Full fire ice is. You are going to want most of the stuff in the trees maxed. You are going to want Fireshape (I never understood why people didn't spend one point on this anyways). Fireshape is fucking awesome on AE fights. With a lot of AE fights there are a lot of gains to be had from full fire ice.

In the Shadows tree, you will see far more benefit from Solar Flare than magi's shielding in mage. However, I think the points in the group buff are just as wasted, I guess I might stick with magi's and drop the points from group buff to solar flare. The mage final is completely worth 1 point because it is a guaranteed agro drop, not only is it great for a mem wipe but it even does damage.

As far as the final Wizard tree, I'd have to log in again and compare a couple abilities, I'm really thinking people are overrating the Icicles AA.

Actually the Icicles AA is really nice... it was doing something like 400, 500, 700, 1000, 1000... it was growing pretty nicely. However, if i had to sacrifice points, i think that would be 1 AA i'd probably consider.

Even with that though, it isn't a high amount of damage. Plus, what does the initial tick do? It is all great that the dot does increasing amounts of damage, but it is an easy ability to overwrite and with spell damage there is a pretty nice up front chunk of damage that there isn't a whole lot gained by waiting.

Basically this is my current AA setup. I have respecced about month ago and have no problems with the power at all. Burn -> manastone (tinkering ftw!). While continue fighting I'm restoring to full power in about 1.5-2 min. And I have no any power proc items. But this setup is the subject for testing. Unfortunatelly there are no transfer from Russian server - can run test with beta buffed char only

Even with the consideration that power is generally not a problem the gains from 2% freehand are so extremely minimal that I'll play it safe and go for 12% less power used.

YVW I know I made a huge post about our wizard AAs. I feel bad for those that read it, lol, I know it hurt my brain to put it together and my eyes to read it >.<. I am glad to see that the idea of Storming Tempest and Velium Gift were used. I am also extremely happy that they replaced our endline sorc ability with a dps spell instead of another decrease hate/hate xfer/deagro. We had 3 aa's that focused on hate before the changes, and one being an endline ability.

I am much happier with the new AAs. Our Ice Spears line is nice, but it could be better. It is not a spell we typically depend on to boost our DPS, it is our main debuff. However, I will take any every bit of dps they will give us since Assassins, once again, will be the top of the dps parse.

Where is the Wizard version of Verdict?

Depending on spell damage amount but off the top of my head the first tick for em maxes just under 1500, and have gotten the final tick of Ice spears to do over 1300 a few times. So I figure if I miss the final tick no biggie, but no need to recast it to lose more than 1 tick. But lettign the final tick run out also increases the DPS of the spell greatly, but I guess it really depends on what is going to be ready to cast right as Ice spears expires and if you have a second wizzy in the raid( if so the debuff will always be up and may as well use it to full DPS potential).

Agree with simpwrx. There shouldn't be a moment in fight where Ice Spear isn't ticking so why not invest in some more damage in a spell you always use?
In the wizard line I would suggest to consider the debuff for heatwave, especially with heat mastery it seems like a nice choice.
I don't have parses on it yet so it's just an idea...

Wouldn't they become immune to stun after the first tick, or doesn't it work like that on DoTs?
