Default Wizards considered ae dps?

New to class and when I hear folks looking for ae dps not sure if I should respond?

Are they looking for Warlock or a Swashy type?

We can put down some aoe dps. Obviously were not warlocks but, we can throw down some high numbers on aoe mobs.

I put down 30 training dummies and had a 10k parse after killing them all, for 10 min or so. Thats aoe imo!

Our biggest ally with our AoE's is Fission... which is pretty much a large focused burst AoE ...our second ally is Exothermicity. All of our other things add up, especially with spell double attack.

JC. Trak Belt. FH. Fission. Exo. Done.

course you are prolly talkin lower lvls since you said you were new. answers' still yes, we ae. use the blue one and the big green one any time they are up. But remember, we'll compliment that ae dps of ours alot by strategically single target burning as well. Stuff should die so fast no one can be the wiser.

yeah in the right group we can throw down some nice numbers on aoe targets. I hit over 20k a few times in befallen halls of the forsaken. and was averaging over 13k on the groups, had a trouby in group with pali tanking though so im sure that helped.

We are AE DPS. Our only problem is that we also are paper tanks and have not much deagro.
I spent a lot of time in the deep zone into forsaken city (sorry, it's early morning, I don't remember the name) to get pages and pages again because I had (and still have) books to end.
Mobs are very often linked, and even when they ain't they are social and can easily get angry thru walls.
My favorite group was with a berseker a a SK and a troubadour. Very fun place.

..
Yesterday afternoon, with a pally, SK, Illu, a warden and me, we went to Obelisk of Ahkzul.
We had a very very fun time trying to get as much mobs as possible. Of course poor warden was in trouble ... As a result we got splatshed from time to time, but it was also part of the fun.

Allies: (13:59) 9774586 | 11650,28 [Ailees-Bolt of Ice-39871]

ME 3150,82
SK 2997,02
Illu 2873,27
Pally 2314,20
Nothing really great in terms of DPS of course, I've seen much better in RE2, but RE2 is boring, here we had a great fun. And that's the important thing, as it is supposed to be a game.

I just love multi encounters! I always get higher parse when there are 3-4 mobs. The AoE together with Ice Shape, precasting Furncae of Ro and Shiney Metallic Robe does wonders! It's pure joy to outparse a warlock in those situations
