Found something interesting with Naj ring and Wizzies a few days ago, thought I'd share.

The first tick of Storming Tempest hits harder than a Ball of Magma with the Naj ring clicky on.

No idea why, but on average, Naj ring first tick of Tempest is doing ~27k on raid, while BoM is doing ~25k.

This makes no sense, since the spells themselves say:

Tempest first tick: 2634-3077
Ball of Magma: 4331 - 7394

No skin off my back, I likey it all the same :D

Spell mod cap is different for those two spells
and the ring capes out your spell damage.

Could be mistaken but pretty sure.

Boe effects DoT's differently than DD spells. Extra damage is applied on first tick for all ticks in spell. Massive DoT's like hailstorm and tempest will have huge first tick's with the ring, even bigger if you have UT.

That's how I thought it worked too, but Hailstorm really gets the short end of the stick - it gets +1k damage while tempest gets +6k

Maybe Hailstorm's termination damage doesn't count as a tick.
