AA Spec's + Manaburn?
Okay, I put this question at the end of an AA thread, but it seems to have been lost in the fray. Sorry for making a new thread.
Now that we're well into the expansion and many of us are raiding with the new abilities/enhancements in the TSO tree, I'm wondering if there's a consensus as to the best AA spec for raiding. I'm trying out Spetz's http://www.eq2flames.com/wizards/348...aa-update.html
(bottom of page 1) Is this still a good spec? Thx

In my opinion, Manaburn is not a good choice for TSO content -- with very few exceptions.
I went with (and since I'm too lazy to post pics, I guess I have to type it) the following:
Sorcerer:
Str: 4/4/4/8
Agi: 4/6/4/8/1
Wis: 4/7/4/8/1
Wizard:
Fire: 4/5/5/5/5/5/5/1 (basically, full Fire except 4 in Enhance:Solar Flare)
Cold: Full
Shadow:
General: 0/0/0/5/0/5/0/0 (though you can chose Health + anything)
Mage: 0/5/5/0/0/0/1 (Enhance Master's Strike not really worth it)
Sorcerer: 0/5/5/0/5/0/1
Wizard: 0/0/5/5/4/5/1/1 (Some people have said that Hailstorm is not worth it, but honestly, I didn't see where those 2 points could go that would make up for its loss)

Hmmm...I just spec'd for manaburn and it seems to work well for those non-power drain fights...what's everyone else's opinion on manaburn for TSO?

Single Encounters: MB
@Daervon: I would put 5 pts in Solar and one less in Ro's Coil, since i almost don't use it
Btw who the hell says Hailstorm is not worth it??

The TSO AA abilities enhance your standard cast spells. Nothing enhances Manaburn. Everytime you're not casting a spell enhanced by an AA ability you're wasting potential DPS.
Manaburn could be justified before depending on your raid setup/gear. Fire/Ice spec blows it away now in terms of DPS potential.

I might have gone that way, but as things are I'm pretty much capped on casting speed for Solar Flare so that extra point would only add a 3% power cost reduction for me...
On the other hand, I use Ro's coil all the time, especially since it's unresistable.

About 98% of all Spells hit my target, so i'm not very concerned about it...
Anyway, it's a matter of taste and the difference is not big enough to argue about ;)

his point was, that Ro's Coil is more valuable than Solar Flare, because it can't be resisted.
-> my point is, that only a few spells are resisted by mobs (~2%), so an unresistable spell is not a huge advantage to any other spell, or am i missing sth?

Gotcha...
I just think Ro's Coil AA is more original since its a gain we can't acheive elsewhere. Power reductions, cast speeds are all dime a dozen time bonuses we get via buffs/gear, but reducing the duration of a dot and having it tick faster isn't something we can gain elsewhere.
Least thats why I'd max it well before solar flare/heatwave.
Same reason I usually capped Magma Chamber asap. Tacking off reuse by the 1s is pretty hefty and a good bonus that's hard to just slap on 1 piece of gear and match.
