Ice Spears->Heatwave->Freehand Sorc->Ice Nova->Heatwave is a good opening starter that works for me. (Mainly because heatwave is a small DOT with decent mana efficiency that has more output potential than our other fast cast dots/nukes and recycles roughly around the cast time of Ice Nova). If the mob isn't dead by then you'll have to work out what other nukes to cast, usually Magma Chamber or one of the other moderate cast large 5k nukes.
This also changes if you're a Iceshaping fan, which tends to benefit more from faster casting spells vs. long cast nukes.
So remember that your casting order will change based on expected duration of the fight. Also keep in mind if grouped with other classes that can debuff (Brigands with dispatch for example) you may want to adjust your casting order to time the large nukes with their debuffs.
Your best bet is to beat on a training dummy or the training wall in kunzar and find an order that works at the 10s duration, 20s duration, 30s and 1 minute marks.
