Tbh I try to use ambi casting during my recovery time of spells. So often my spells get interrupted in the middle of their cast cause i tried to be slick and hit ambi while i was casting.

Storming Tempest is magic damage, Ro's Coil is focus damage and neither benefit from an elemental debuff. There's your sound reasoning.

Has something changed? it didnt used to interrupt casting...

Its not gaurenteed but it can. Do it enuf times in the middle of like a fission cast, you'll get an interrupt eventually. Then I feel silly cause its like, yeah that 900 melee dmg was totally worth starting my fission cast over!

Well not quite Perm, cause me, like all wizzies im sure, pre-cast ice shape/frigid gift so technically the cold debuff would help tempest.

yea come to think of it sometimes silly shit happens and I have had an interrupt around the time of my ambi. but thats clearly a bug, since in its description it says that it wont do that.

tbh i'm wondering what dps people expect with (sorry) crappy gear, a wrong spell rotation and bad group setups. It's not just lvling a wizard up to 80 and dps all mobs into the ground with a 10k+ zonewide. Many people posting here recently claim to have read the "Sticky thread". Did you understand what's been written there or did you just read it?

Imo get some decent gear. What is decent gear? Check the "sticky thread", it's all there numbered down bit by bit. Look at the fabled Loot, that drops in instances if you're a nonraider or check loottables if you are a raider. Meanwhile learn how to rotate your spells correctly and make constant use of velium/surge.

Somehow i feel Wizards are the new Assassins, everyone has a toon, but about 10% are able to play it.

Hi,

I used to be in a similar boat when TSO came out. I was about 50% spell crit. Now I get to about 94% before any pots or buffs. I can knock out about 8K-9K ZW. Still not good compared to raid wizards, but I am not in a Raid guild.

What changed for me?

Gearing. Full T2 Set + (VP Hat + Leggings) + TSO Bracers + Lots of other instance drops like Ring of Readiness + Mythical.

Crit - Crit - Crit. Nothing boosts your DPS like critting every spell.

Spell Casting: Pay attention to your casting order, maximize for DPS

AAs: Currently on 185+ (still slack) but more AAs that correctly allocated = More DPS

Masters: Trade, Bargain, Farm to get your best nukes on masters.

It took me some time, but getting there in the end. Still have to farm that elusive choker...

I would add that 8/9K average has no real meaning.
I know 2 zones where a wizard equiped correctly (like me... or Sintorah or Nimrodel) is around 10K : Leviathan and Palace of the ancient one. Mobs do not resist much and have enough life to last a bit.
The same Wizard in VP will be 30% less.

Yesterday in the international wizard channel I read that a decent wizard must be at 11 K in Guk Stronger ; well, then I'm not decent at all ;) of course I understood that the guy who was typing thought a "decent" wizard has 110 % crit and 1K +damages ... all masters of course, and so on !! funny

Thats a bit worrying Ailees, I fit all the above catagories and I got nowhere close to 11k the one and only time I did Guk.

Time to hang up my wizzy hat I think
