in general. The fame system is whacked, and its all about whos running in a bigger group or x2 or more.

Low pvp is probly the purest it can get in EQ2, but thats not very good.

I've noticed the large groups and have been in a 4 man group myself. Haven't left darkfall woods yet and the fair tents are constantly going back and forth between qeynos or neriak in terms of control. As a coercer I have mez, two stuns, a root and a silence but the speed I die at generally only allows me to get 1 spell off before I'm dead. Somebody in 1-9 chat mentioned Mastercrafted gear. the times I do get more than one spell off they are a healer and just out last me.(nukes hit the same or harder than mine and they heal) Also what is the advantage of having large fame and does it increase by status points.

There is no advantage to having fame, its just bragging rights, but most of the time it doesnt mean anything because it just means that person runs and only fights when its stacked in their favor, or theyre always grouped or something. It rarely equates to skill.

And versus healers, yes at that level unless youre twinked out with mastercrafted gear and adept 3 spells etc. healers will outlast you. The early part of the game is imbalanced in that respect because the different classes get their good abilities at different times starting out.

You get the fame by status points by killing players with a title one below, the same, or one above yours. They just changed it now so you dont lose fame when you die, so i guess now it just decays over time, so you have to keep pvping or your titles will go down after awhile.

At your level unless you get the jump youre probably going to be screwed thats what sucks about the low levels.

youre a coercer, this is in the wizard forums. I suggest if you want to stay a mage and pvp low levels, roll a wiz, lock when you get to level 10 and do as many quests everywhere and a POF AA run if you can afford it to get your manashield AA. Put lots of points into magis shielding, and the warding one, all in that line. Its at the end of the stamina line.

In the mid teens, a wizzy with mana shield has effectively about 4 times the HP a wizzy without it has. So you can basically nuke them down before they get you down.

Fight them, wait till your orange, then pop manashield. It takes 1 point of power away for every 3 points of damage done, instead of health. You might need to think about that for a second but thats pretty huge. It basically extends your HP x 3 At that point you need to burn them down before you go out of power, because then, youre toast.

If you want to be successful lower levels at PVP, definitely play Wiz over coercer. Once you get up in levels a bit, theyre both pretty good, the coercer might be better then.

If you want to be successful at lower levels in PvP play a swash/ranger tbh. Get a ranger to 26 and it's gg. Get reach for a swashie and it's gg. PvP wizards suck. If you say they're beast, it's because you have poor standards. Sure the battlemage spec helps, but in the grand scheme of things it's not going to make you a l33t king... And chanters suck at lower levels cuz their stuns/mezzes/stifles/dazes have a short duration. It lengthens as you level, so don't be frustrated. Level 80 illys own at PvP. If you wizzies ever beat an illy at PvP, it's because they're retarded tbh.

qft

I routinely kill illusionists 1v1.

The only people that really give me trouble 1v1 are beast raid healers, beast paladins, enchanters, and Shook.

Everything else dies pretty good.

qft again.

There is a big difference however, between a wizard that knows what they are doing and one that doesn't; and going from what I have seen, I think there are alot that don't know what to do.

The best thing to do would be: decide what roll you want to fill in a group situation, and play a class that fits that roll.

Any class can be good in pvp if you work hard enough and enjoy playing it.

You should never lose to a pally...

And the only healers that should kill you are wardens and shamans. Fuck that greater bane warding.

You underestimate paladins because we dont have any good ones on Vox.

Beast raid healers, excluding furies, are all pretty tough for us - you mean to say you could kill Olafo or Gokol reliably? (silly inq and templar on vox)
