Wizards in PvP

How do wizards fare in PvP? Are they a bottom of the barrel class only useful for raiding DPS? Just wondering because Wizard would be my first choice of class to play as but I want to do decently in PvP so I went with coercer.

It takes skill is why you will see some people say they suck and some say they own.

You need the right AA's battlemage, manashield, magis shielding etc etc all that.

Try to get as many pieces of dispersion or displacement gear as you can.

Use your interrupts.

At 80 its possible to occasionally one shot people. Storming tempest with the repeated knockdown helps.

Its 60% gear and 50% Skill. Yes, thats what i meant.

I see you said you rolled coercer though. Good choice as theyre OP and frustrating as fuck to get killed by. Bad thing is theres a nerf bat on the horizon with Chanters written all over it.

I'm guessing dispersion gear is level 80 instance or raid gear? If its any consolation I'm a level 16 coercer and I have yet to win a 1v1. I don't even think I've gotten somebody down to half health, they hit me for 90-200 damage 3 to 4 times whiel my spells hit them for 50-60 and have a cast time.

If you've ever played a game that takes any skill PvP will just be a let down and annoying at the same time. If you want to play it though I'd just take it light and bullshit around with it, its a lost cause though cause its a joke for PvP.

Probably more-so as a wizard but really i just have strong opinions on it. I played FPS for a decade and if I ever nailed someone with a rocket and it resisted, that would just be total horseshit, thats the same type of shit you'll run into in PvP time after time. Hey I did everything in my power but RnG runs the show, not skill! I just can't take it seriously.
