Hey, I am new to EQ2, and I am trying to find a guide that applies to the newest exansion TSO. I am basically looking for a complete guide that would allow me to hit for high dmg (or dps i think its called in eq2). And would include how to distrube all my points to reach a wizards top potential. So if anyone has any idea's or even a build of there own they can share with me I would be very thankful.

First of all...

Build the toon...learn your class...be a good player. If you are a shit player, you will never have an amazing wizard. You could have the best geard wizard World wide but be a complete and utter fuck tard...and someone who is skilled and knows the class could log on your toon and out play you on your own toon.

Its the 2nd thread on the Wizard forums...I would have suggested you read that and try to figure out how to play a wizard before you ask other ppl to tell you how to play a class.

I am not trying to be a bitch...but we get noob posts all the time...and its like...did you read the consolidated wizard thread? So, read the material, get your wizard to lvl 80, 200aas, in a good raid guild, get some gear, and then come back to ask those questions to help you fine tune your character.

I'd say this is about the worst advice possible for a new player.

Slow down and get the AA's as you level. You'll be glad you did when you run out of quests in RoK at 130-150 AA instead of at 100. You'll also have a much easier time along the way having a lot of AA's at lower levels. Finally, you'll have the chance to see more of the content, and spend some time learning your class - which will really help when you finally get to 80 and people are expecting you to be on top of every parse.

Level your toon to 22, 32, 42, etc. (for Mastercrafted gear), and lock all exp, then do as many quests in the tier below as you can stand before moving on. Once you hit level 20, you should definitely have as many AA's as you have levels, and then work on increasing your AA:level ratio toward 2:1.

Don't get bogged down, though. If you get sick of a zone, move on.

Leveling slow has it's merits if it's your first wizard - but while you are leveling keep in mind that you will gain new spells and gear combination possibilities the higher you get, and your strategies for dpsing will change. (Master 2s, Ice Comet at 50, Numbing Cold at 55, Fusion at 65 etc etc)

So learn by leveling, but keep in mind you may have to relearn as new spells and gear become available
