When GU53 goes live, we may have some choices to make. If they reset *all* the traits on the racial page, we have the opportunity to reconsider +STA vs +INT character development selections. Now, if that section isn't reset, this post is moot.
But that's assume they are. And we are given the ability to walk back out +Int and +Sta choices, and decided again.
Normally, this would be easy. We're at the hard cap now for Int. (And if your, not, you will be). So the logical choice is to switch from +Int to +Sta. (My personal thought of the moment) Any difference can be made up for in gear now, or gear post expansion. Or, if you really want as much INT regardless, you can pile it back on, safe in the knowledge that if you forget to de-equip your JW hammer, you're still safely above the INT cap.
-----
But we're rapidly approaching an expansion. At which point not just our levels raise as well, our int cap does, up to 1370 if my math is right. Suddenly we have room to grow in INT again. And given the current gear plans, I have no confidence that in T9 there's going to be enough +INT gear to get you to the new cap by itself. So perhaps staying in INT is the better plan. It hurts you now (you have useless INT, and don't have some STA you could have). But may get your a big leg up when the expansion is released.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Flames?
I've not quite figured out what path I'm going to take. What path are *you* going to take?

STA.
INT doesnt matter past like 1000
1220 is hard cap on int.
800 soft.
as you can see here in deus's guide
"
Even undercap, you'll be at nearly 98% of your dmg at 1000 INT."
so ya i'd say go STA
Whizard-80-Wizard-Crushbone
Troob-80 Troubador-AB
I BLOW SHIT UP
As a Wizard you still gain from Int being as the mythical proc gives you spell damage based on your int.
Ok. You've convinced me. I just hate doing less damage than theoretically possible - even if it's only ~2% - but pushing INT to the hard cap just doesn't seem to be the best idea.
Unless of course they change the curve some day. But there's little chance of that happening...

Everything is relative, and it's all about min/max'ing your statistics to the optimal setup. Giving up more important stats just to hit the hardcap may not be the answer if the cost outweighs the benefit, etc etc.
But imo, it's going to be just as easy to hit the INT cap in the next expansion, as it is now. So much of this may be a moot point.

i personally would take more int over more sta in that small of an inc because of what slip brought up. but if your not in raid gear and dieing alot while soloing or in groups the extra sta may help.
the more int you have the better for when your myth procs
