Default Proc Nerf Testing

So i did some testing today, i cast 100 balls of magma on our server, then 100 balls on test. Exact same equipment 95% crit rate.
I can't quite explain the drop in dps for my ball of magma, except perhaps that overall dps is down therfore that seems less since my average hit is the same on it.
Hit rate was fairly consistent, but average damage on my procs was way down.
Total DPS Pre Nerf: 10350.58 Post nerf: 6252.24 Drop 39.59%
Average DMG Pre Nerf: 4474.12 Post nerf: 3592.07 Drop 19.71%
Malefic Fury Pre Nerf: 552.82 Post nerf: 544.42 Drop - 1.5% ??? odd one
Disease Cloud Pre Nerf: 898.16 Post nerf: 405.68 Drop - 54.83%
LRtR Pre Nerf: 4909.15 Post nerf: 1810.57 Drop - 63.12%
FotVW Pre Nerf: 2414.00 Post nerf: 1041.00 Drop -56.88%
Fire of Intellect Pre Nerf: 1752.15 Post nerf: 747.06 Drop - 57.36%
Funeral Pyre Pre Nerf: 3336.44 Post nerf: 1178.46 Drop - 64.68 %
FotE Pre Nerf: 763.00 Post nerf: 307.83 Drop - 59.66%
GVB Pre Nerf: 1354.00 Post nerf: 616 Drop - 54.50%
So overal DPS, down about 20% or 40% depending on which number you want to look at.
Proc drops on average (Excluded Maelific Fury due to oddity)-58.72%

Yay, Sony...

So what we're looking at is - if your gear set is based on procs, instead of pure focus on base, crit bonus, cast speed, reuse speed, and all the other goodies.....

Well, Malefic Fury isn't affected by the changes because it's considered a buff, so that explains why the results didn't change.

I don't see this change hurting us very much honestly. You're phrasing it as though we're losing 50% DPS, when in fact we're losing whatever the amount is in proc dmg.

Obviously this changes by each gear setup, but those of us who haven't focused primarily on proc damage will see even less of a hit. By my standards I'll only see a 1-2% drop. So the change doesn't bother me in the slightest.

No - Damage per proc is down close to 60%, resulting in about a 20% DPS drop for wizards with any of what was the better gear.

Even without some of the higher end gear you're going to get around a 10% drop with your proc items.

That's just completely incorrect, a 20% drop in DPS? You can easily figure out approx how much DPS you'll lose by just adjusting your Palace Trash parses.

Hell, post a pie chart (you don't even have to include #'s just include %'s) and I'll do the work for you.

This isn't even pointing out the fact that in your data it took you nearly 1:15 longer to cast the same number of BoMs. Why you chose those two parses to compare ExtDPS just boggles my mind.

Your first parse you have listed has the top spell as Ball of Magma, where the second one has Ball of Fire. Is this something you did, or is it a Test Server thing?

Recast your malefic fury. I never got one crit off of it on the training wall. I'm guessing your buff got "grandfathered in" from existing pre-test copy transfer.

Okay, im looking at the OPs parses:

Disease Cloud - 147dps
Long Road to Ruin - 119dps
Fire of Intellect - 63dps
Funeral Pyre - 61dps

Oh here comes the lawls, a screenshot of a parse from Emerald Halls in t7. Raid vs solo I don't give a fuck, these are numbers from a lvl 70 raid so even a solo 80 in decked gear should be able to rape these numbers. SO despite the varying scenarios these compared numbers were produced under, its pretty pathetic how close they are. But this is the power held by lvl 70 raiders:

Burning Affliction (legendary bone clasped girdle - KoS) - 123dps
Harrowing Strike (legendary gloves of sagacity - EoF) - 93dps
Spirit Feast (legendary Necromantic Orb - KoS) - 89dps
Thules Temper (fabled Bracelet of Thule - KoS) - 79dps
Char (treasured mystical orb of the invoker - KoS) - 69dps
Disparaing Affliction (fabled ring of supremacy - KoS) - 40dps

So if you support this, you think avatar gear and mythical procs should be doing less dps than legendary gear was doing 3 expansions ago, in short. I mean whew, the avatar charm damage proc just barley is out-performing what bone clasped girlde used to throw down. Oh man, how awesome, my mythical weapon procs weaker damage than the fucking level 68 legendary necro orb with jack shit for stats used to do for me. The numbers shouldn't even be close to what they were 3 expansions ago.

How much more retarded cause the devs be getting. Do they even think when they do these things? Why the fuck is it a good idea to nerf top end avatar/raid loot into shit that I had when I was level 70 decked in legendary. The change will go in and then the game will go to a stand-still for 6 months cause guess what, nothing is an upgrade anymore. It all fucking sucks ass anyway, why upgrade shit to more shit?

Oh the funniest part is, Funeral Pyre item is a direct upgrade to boneclasped girlde in design. Theres actually a couple similar designed belts in between these two items as well, with "greater burning affliction" procs. They're taking the upgraded version and nerfing it to 1/2 of what the original one was for its time! L O L O L!
