FF Stuff
Personally, I didn't attend fan faire, and I'm sure a lot of you didn't. A guildie did, however, take a few notes. A few of them seemed to stick out to me a little more than others, so I'll post those.
First, myths are not to be upgraded when we reach level 90. Instead, SOE is looking to make them upgraded to an Adornment so you can keep all of the effects, instead of keeping the actual weapon.
Second, Item stats will deminish depending on your level and the item level. All level 80 gear is supposed to have a 1/3 drop in stats (crit, crit bonus, crit mit, etc) at level 90. The further an item's level is from yours, the more it's supposed to be diminished.
The last one that stuck out was that there is to be not as much (or possibly none) class specific gear. Instead, gear will be more of an archtype deal with more than 7 pieces per set (so you can mix and match for whatever you want and still keep set bonuses).
Supposedly, and this may not be pushed through, Sony is making an instance with avatars in them (open instance I'd assume). Probably to get rid of zone lag and stop all the need for contested camping. They have not given this a 100% yes, yet, but are considering it. There should also be many more contesteds than there are currently.
AA cap raised to 250! -_-
I'm not sure I'm going to stick around for another 10 levels. I might, but as it stands now, I'd rather not. Of course, auto mentoring, tank revamp, etc are all going through as well, so I didn't bother listing that. Also remember that this is not a complete list.. Just the more hard hitting changes.

Re: FF Stuff
They want to force you to upgrade. 'Tis all they're doing.

They need to buy a clue. I had hope this epic fail concept had been kicked to the curb with a steel toed boot.

This is a poor way to do it, BUT it needs to be done. If you can not see that you probably do not raid.

Re: FF Stuff
The gear scaling system was needed. At least it's not a project thats brand new. Hopefully they are able to implement it at the right time (namely at the Expansion)

Re: FF Stuff
I'd hope so. The only piece I was worried about was the choker, but Fyre said that there would be a level 90 version of the choker. =)

Re: FF Stuff
One thing that concerns me, is right now, we have set pants that cap our reuse on our biggest spell, Ice Comet III. However presumably there will be an Ice Comet IV at 90, and if they are not making set pants that have this effect, it's going to hurt us. Because the only way to cap it is to be stuck with Ice Comet III, which will be an old tier spell. We saw this going from 70 to 80, you didn't get much of a boost from Bolt of Ice until you got the new set pants.

Re: FF Stuff
I'm almost betting that there will be tons of reuse on items to where having the -15 seconds on the pants wont even matter.

Ugh pictures wont line up short ways. But yeah all last 3 set bonuses on our top end pants since year 2007, lol, have been reduced recast for Ice Comet
Well then again you do never know with this game. And I could think of ways they could work around it too that wouldn't be too bothersome.

I do raid, a good chunk of my posts it is usually about x peice of raid gear being broken.
As slippery and myself and many other have posted the keys is not nerfing but expanding the areas in which gains can be made. I.e. crit bonus, procs(a self scaling fix), base damage etc. Who cares is someone caps on spell crit , if they still have a long way to go on reuse, or cast speed, or crit bonus, or base damage, or + spell damage. spell double attack etc. I do see a problem with some higher end gear, however this gear was the problem and this is not the solution. Creating more desirable alternatives that produce more dps while lowering some of the areas that raiders have reached "too high" in, is a way better solution.
Why? Because the proposed solution opens the door for more bad itemization. The reason to upgrade should always be because new gear is more appealing than the old. Not because the old gear has been lowered in value so much that new crappy gear looks better or equal. Already without this proposed change, one may find themselves wearing previous expansion gear because it is the best choice for most or all of a new expansion. Add to that the fact that piece would be nerfed and you make for some real ughness.
Also because it is a quick fix that doesn't get to the root of the problem of solid itemization. There are some items that need to be balanced and other that are fine. This obviously takes more work but sooner or later for good itemization, it is work that has to be done.
