Well of course they don't, because you won't have the gear to do 20k+ in a raid with 100k raid dps.

I dont understand why making such a hude deal and QQ'ing about ppl posting their raid dps will help you any? Ever think ppl dont post that shit just bc you go crazy over asking about it? Just chill and worry about your own dps instead of trying to compare yourself others. There are so many variables I cannot even begin to list them. It is not logical to compare yourself to others. Nor compare your raid dps to others. Practice on training dummies with gear choices, spell rotation etc...to boost your dps...bc lets face it...you cannot force others to boost their raid dps so it will help "boost" yours...just chill out about making ppl post their raids dps

I send tells to people, telling them to thank me for increasing RW DPS and in turn, their own DPS.

Re: The New Parse Thread!
Posting parses and leaving out important info like group setup, raid dps and who has key buffs is simply bragging. Because when people in less advanced guilds see the super parses it dosent help them if they dont understand why the parses are so high. So yeah if you want to take 1 to 3 mins to upload a parse and post it here you might as well take 5 to 10 seconds to mention the important variable's in your raid set up.

Pretty much. Applying the simple phrase "the higher the raid wide dps, the higher the individual dps" will not work across the board for anyone. It all really depends on the variables affecting the fight and which spells are up, gear, etc. You can't possibly expect to get the same spells off in the same order for every fight. It's just not possible if your raid is doing that much dps and moving that fast. There is some experience and learning in raiding at the higher end.
Now, I do agree that your dps will go up if you consistently dps high with higher raid dps and the right gear. I just don't think it will go up indefinitely. As the fights get faster, the choices and casting orders change, so you have to compensate for the allocated amount of time you have to parse. Wizards had this problem in Shard of Hate. The fights were really fast, and our class couldn't make up for the fast battles because our spells needed to hit harder or because of resists.
So in the end, what fomka parsed on avatar of flame and his raid wide dps has nothing to do with what you do because his raid is nothing like yours.

Oh group makeup and key buffs are definetly huge factors.
When I was on befallen in a guild during the beginning of RoK who was working on VP, I had dps I did. When I app'ed to Second Dawn and was thrown in the mix with a entire mythical raid (minus me) with waaaaay higher dps than my previous guild, my dps didn't raise proportinatly to the RW increase I was experiencing. It's not as directly related as people think, the RW dps. Look at SoH...stuff would die so fast in there our dps suffered generally on trash mobs cause wizards usually do better dps once we get a couple things rolling.
Ie. Full duration of storming tempest, the 2nd bolt of ice, full duration of a hailstorm. It's not a linear comparison to say the more RW dps goes up the more my dps goes up neccesarily. There is kind of a sweet spot of fight duration for wizzies. And once you get into fights like names/avatars perhaps that last 3 - 6 minutes. We're so deep in our reuse our dps kind of flatlines at a certain point...its not as if the longer the fight goes that our dps starts dramatically dropping either...it's just not that linear really. With higher RW dps usually mean better debuffers, better group makeups. So yeah in turn with higher dps theres usually other factors beyond the pure RW # that are boosting your own numbers.

Re: The New Parse Thread!
Well it looks like I'm not the only one who doesn't parse high on SOH trash. We went in there after a hotfix and I was sure something was nerfed. Nope, just shit dying fast and not getting to push all my buttons.

I never said posting your group make up and what buffs you had were not useful...bc they are...and I have always tried to add group set up and the buffs I had when I posted a parse.
There are too many variables, and imo that makes RW dps becomes almost irrelivant. Why? Is every raid going to be set up exactly the same? Is every raid going to have the same exactly classes on? Will every raid have the exactly same debuff and buff/utility classes? So many variables that affect RW dps...and the gear of all those players....the skill of all those players...the guilds they are in etc... will affect RW dps...so I dont see how it is crucial that it is posted. But I do agree that group make up, buffs, and a link to gear is good. Asking to post the raid make up and RW dps is not comparable due to all the variables that exhist that give some over all raid dps.
Some one once told me SoH mobs were better mitigated against "magic" damage vs "melee" damage? Is there any truth to that? Trash is very hard to get a good parse one...bc they do die very fast...we cannot get a good spell rotation going and some times lack debuffs we need bc they die so fast...
So...all in all...posting the parse with your group set up, buffs, and a link to gear is nice. It just takes common sense that if you are pulling a 20k zw on Place trash...your raid is probably doing more than 100k dps...so be a smart wizard and use common sense if you have some...if you are a retard and/or dont have common sense of basic game mechanics and raid dps then you a fucked and should probably educate yourself
