Default Ambidextrous casting/ Freehand question

If I cast Freehand sorc., and then start casting fission or bolt of ice, and during that I use ambidextrous(?) casting, does freehand get used on ambi., or will it not affect it and still increase the damage of fission or bolt of ice?

Another question with freehand sorc., is that if I have a DoT going such as storming tempest, and use freehand for bolt of ice / another spell, but storming tempest goes off before I finish casting my spell, does it affect storming tempest, or the other spell still?

Sorry if this was confusing, kind of hard to explain what I'm trying to ask.

Here is the link to my eq2players.. Wondering if I could get any tips on gear/ casting order.

EverQuest II Players - Profile for Dimitry

My int is normally around 950-1000, still working on full t2. I also have followed all the advice in daray's post, casting order, aa's, etc.. but I still can only reach around 2.5k-3k parses in groups, and 5-6k in raids.. any advice is appreciated. Not sure if eq2players shows my crit chance, but its normally around 70% without temp. items like second sight elixir.

Close to getting my myth, just need 1 more update, that should help a lot, but I don't want to pay for it, so it could be a bit before I do get it.

You should really read what Freehand does. Base spell damage does not effect combat arts. It just increases the damage of the next spell cast.

Ambidextrous will not affect FH. Nor will any DoT's that are already ticking. It will only work on the next spell you cast. Best used on Fusion or Ice Comet.

If you're reading Daray's guide then the casting order should be pretty much ok. May need some tweaking with the new TSO AA spells. I've not seen anything as to where's best to cast them in your order so see what works for you.
Fire/Ice should be the Wizard tree you're following, but you should max out Shadows tree first if you have the AA's ofc.

Other than that getting more masters and upgrading your gear is what you need. Hunt down Najena's ring from Hollow Tower (should the elusive bastard ever drop) and go farm yourself a Choker from SoF.

And nag your raidleader for good group setups. Illu and Troubie ftw!

This reminded me of that Nasty Surging Tempest bug that took AGES to get fixed.... it would steal FH.

If you macro'd freehand to ice comet and fusion back then the bug gave you extra damage for the most part, if it stole it the same way it did catalyst =o
