First of all MB spec would be useful for you only if you put your points where they should be (much like in Enuki's setup) and second - IF you're pimped out with avatar gear (which means you are close to the cap on base damage and cast speed) because if not there's no point in Manaburn at all.
To write a Guide you should be able to understand how to play your class and how to produce the insane dps numbers WITHOUT spreadshits. Ok, it's common sense that if you have more base damage, more cast speed, more other stuff then each of your spells would produce more DPS, but why bother with some abstract numbers? You don't need these pictures to understand which spells you should cast first or second, all you need is to examine your spells, look at the dmg numbers, get used to how fast they cast in a raid and then just think in advance of how fast the fight would be, what might happen if aoe would hit, what it would do to you, etc... When you will settle the part where you don't have to think about what spell is better and what you should cast it all comes down to your reaction if something goes in unusual way.
Well, I can understand what these spreadshits are good for. With all these calculated numbers you can write a good macros which even would be good for a lot of trash fights, your math would do the job for you, but it has nothing to do with maximizing your dps and pushing the limits.
PS There you go, you almost got a guide from me, that's my DPS religion (and it always was, no jokes here), just without pics of my aa setup. But I can direct you
here, it's almost the same as mine setup apart from the bullshit magi shielding part, which won't give you any dps.
PSPS I haven't read Darays DPS guide, just because I never felt a need to read any guides about something simple like button mashing. And yea, I have no clue about all those formulas people are using to calculate their numbers, I never did.
