Best Cloak period!

In a perfect world, and after GU53 nerfs, what cloak is everyone wearing? base proc? crit bonus? haste? reuse? discuss..... : )

Before and after gu53, cloak of unrest. 2 crit bonus is dick compared to a solid 10% reuse thats almost always up. Especially after gu53 raped the reuse out of some nice items, moreso.

i dont see how reuse is that huge for us considering a lot of our spells are capped i perfer the 2 spell crit bonus one from palace,

or the charm from munzok and the cloak out of there

Spells not capped:

Bewilderment, thunderclap, ball of fire, (in manaburn spec) magma chamber, firestorm, hailstorm, storm of lightning, storming tempest, (depending on gear/spec) glacial wind, Flames of the velious, Ice lash/ice shape, heat proc/fireshape, manaburn itself, ice shield, Rays of D. Some other items that *Take* to the reuse that arn't capped - freehand sorcery, najena ring, cure pots, (if you wear it) trakanon belt.

I didn't include a few DoT's because the reuse is shorter than some of the durations like heatwave or ro's coil.

Things that are capped no matter what setup, fusion + ice comet. We cast way more than just those 2 spells so I have no f'ing clue how people somehow figure since we cap 2 of our 20 spells that reuse is useless. Reuse is the difference sometimes between hitting your firestorm instead of a single target nuke in a massive aoe fight. Reuse is the difference between hitting hailstorm instead of heatwave sometimes. Reuse can be the difference between hitting ball of fire instead of ro's coil or heatwave. So I see it as an item that in many cases lets me do up, or more than 20k damage the moment i have to choose a button to click instead of hitting a button that does 5k - 10k damage. It can even be the difference between popping najena ring for your big hitters, instead of just casting your big hitters without najena ring cause it has 4 - 5 more seconds until it refreshes. I've had it on in all the parses i've posted in the last couple months, wouldn't take it off for anything right now, not even close. And yeah, Unrest is spell reuse, aka, anything that has a reuse timer period, opposed to Hostile or Beneficial only.

I'm willing to hear other theories, but thats what goes through my head in choosing Unrest. Also considering its proc conditions + duration, once that shit goes up its pretty much up. And it goes up easily.

I'm partial to the White Dragonscale cloak, because the proc is almost always up, and +5% base damage to spells is better (for my spec at least) than Unrest cloak.

When Umzok finally drops the mage charm for me, I'm considering wearing the Ozyk cloak with it -- Constant 4 reuse + the set bonuses. Will have to see though, since we keep getting either the conj/necro charm or the fighter one...

What about the cloak of woven silk compared to the others? I don't have it myself, so I'm interested what people think about it.

I'd say the mmb cloak with the charm set bonus is probably best if you don't have access to avatar charms (might be even if you do, depending on how bad the nerfs were).

dakkota is right in some respects (imo)

10 reuse is by far the most important way to improve dmg by improving the reuse time of firestorm. When you look at parses firestorm crushes everything else by a long shot and with good reuse u could actually freehand najenas firestorm ---filler --- filler----firestorm and get 2X firestorm under the effect of a najenas ring. For an aoe battle reuse is more dmg than anything else.

For a single target fight however i'd say reuse is much much much less important. The reason for that is by making a point by point analysis of each nuke we cast

ice comet +fusion ---capped
surging tempest ---reuse doesn't really benefit
hail storm -- reuse benefits yeah! +++for reuse
rays -- benefited by reuse but with such a long reuse timer to begin with gain is guarded
ball of fire -- benefited
frigid gift benefited

after that the dps efficiency of spells gets a lot closer.... so basically reuse on a single target battle allows u to cast the shit out of some ball of fire over some other dots like immolation//incinerate (is what it comes down to)

however if u notice with frigid gift / and either potm or pom dps efficiency of shorter casting spells is a big boon and competitive with ball of fire.

So at the end of the day..i see raising the high end of spells with spell crit bonus to be better for single target

Lastly...
for pvp spell crit bonus ..that's it :P
