While the above is true for any group/raid play and general solo play, I like to spec differently when solo'ing TSO or ROK heroic content ... especially when mobs are immune to roots.

Being able to take a couple hits if there isn't much room to kite efficiently will be more helpful than more dps if you can't kill the mob in a few seconds. That is especially true if you're in a ROK contested dungeon and have to deal with repops if you die.

But yea, aside from that, it's DPS spec all the way, there isn't really any room to spec differently aside from going after Manaburn if you want that ...

Solo manashield is horrible for soloing. Stoneskin is not overpowered anymore, you'll just get hit 3 - 4x by a heroic, lose all your power, then not even be able to evac cause you choose a bad spec.

Agreed, Manashield isn't really useful for this. You're better of taking both Agi and Wis endline in all cases.
The added physical mitigation from the Sta line, as well as from TSO Wizard line plus damage reduction on Magi's Shielding is, however. Which is what I was referring to. IIRC you should end up at close to 50% physical mitigation plus ward plus reduction.

As far as Dispersion/Displacement not being op anymore, I wouldn't know, haven't been playing long ... it's still plenty useful though.

You're going to want the Hoshkar robe which procs 2 dispersion hits.

It's still extremely useful. I just mean it used to actually, almost proc enuf that you could regen more power than you lost. Now, not so much. Still saves lives though

sure, it is... but when you are deep into seb or chardok, dying is really a pain.
One of my wizards friends is amongst the very best questers in the world, and a soloer much better than I will ever be.
He uses manashield, FD and run stuff and eventually displacement gear when he really does not want to die.
