Guides written by players, take note of era when these were written, some things might not apply or may have changed.
If you would like to submit a guide shoot me a PM and I will give it a general check out to make sure it's at least semi-redeemable for quality and probably add it to this collection of guides.
*Extra note* Some major changes have taken place like spell DA effecting DoTs and reworking of the EoF tree since these guides were written. Minus Gesar's pending as a work in progress, the other guides AA specs are probably not worth using blindly without consideration of game changes.

GeSar's MAXIMIZING DPS AS A WIZARD - A GUIDE 3.0 - DoV Style -author indicates the DoV portion is still a work in progress/under construction (Tell me when I can remove this note if you'd like, i'll check it out time to time though)
Dakkota's Wizard DPS Guide (SF - some information growing quite dated)

<3 .
I get alot of questions about specs. This is the one I currently use.

I am considering taking points away from raw HP in shadows and putting those in Pet of the Gods on the same line to maximize INT gains. However since I end up tanking most heroic content I still run the HP.
After 60 this will change somewhat due to crit bonus changes in the trees. I will also test for a week or two 8 in Hailstorm in Heroic instead of Blast.
Will keep this updated when I do change.
Not a bad idea to submit AA spec posts or any other example making posts to wizard DPSing in this thread. I might keep banter out of this thread and leave informational posts only if it becomes a decent collective thread of it, to be easier to sift through.
Another question I get alot is what adorns I use.
First off, for white slot it should be INT everywhere you can. INT is huge.
For reds, I personally run with:
Winds on belt
Magnitude/overbearing onslaught on primary/secondary
Subterranean Will
Velium Cypher
Benefaction
Rime Strike
In my usually static raid group we have a redundancy of the winds/dains/unleashed/whatever procs. Everyone wears one of the group procs and 2 people have the same one each time. This covers all bases in group and opens up red slots for other people. Theres no need to have 5 dains proccing in your group.
Now, I happen to love the cypher/benefaction combo and I cant even count the ae's I miss on a nightly basis. However, you could go even more offensive and drop one of those two for a Greater Cognent (passive +4 potency).
As far as red and yellow slots on armor, you want to choose potency or crit bonus anywhere you can. On the head and shoes theres nothing better than critmit. Obviously spell double on shoulders.
Spoiler for for gaige:
question amigo
why use rime strike over cognent? static > proc. i mean the damage isnt good, maybe i missed something.
no the damage is worthless, but the 4 potency AND CB proc is why. Its up often. I spend hours at test dummies watching things like that.
The static adorn is a solid choice, and i ran it until about a week befre the great hack. BUt imo the extra CB from the proc wins.
oic, i didn't notice the crit bonus on it. guess i'll scoop one up.
Yes and no. This will vary from person to person. Some INT slots share with spell haste, and that can be of greater value to some people not yet geared in the higher end raid stuff.
Cypher is rather limited in usefulness. You'd be better off dropping that and shuffling the adornments around to get Greater Cognent on your primary. Benefaction is something that I would rate as "of situational use", but is certainly the better of the 2 if you wish to retain one or the other.
Agree with this bit. No need to go overboard with these group procs. 2-3 procs in each group is sufficient for almost complete coverage. However, you may wish to keep some of those procs on duplicate pieces for those times that you aren't raiding.
Choose potency over crit bonus on those slots that you are offered a choice (think it is only forearms that offers both iirc).
With regards to the head and boots, you only have a choice of crit chance, crit mit, hate reduction (or I suppose SF foci if you are in the process of upgrading your armor and want to retain certain foci). There's a good chance that if you have been raiding HMs for a while, you will be capped on both crit chance and crit mit for HM Zek (275% crit chance, 210% crit mit iirc). Anything over those cap values is not going to be netting you any benefits, unless there is a debuff element to the script. Personally, if capped on both, I'd still take crit chance - or potentially multi-attack, since I do melee where i can :P.
If you aren't capped on crit chance for the content you are fighting (crit avoidance stated on the mob + 100), then that needs to be a priority.
