First off, thanks in advance for the help. I have worked through the DPS guides and the parses and am trying to really optimize my Wiz to help the guild get to the next tier of content.
With that said, contrary to the guide on maximizing DPS, I see in the parse thread most Wizards are using Manaburn. So, that raises questions about cast order and spell prioritization in the CoE expansion.
May I get some feedback on cast order for a single-target pull? Here's what I have so far:
Ice shield on pull
Ice spears on pull
Fiery Blast
Freehand + Eci's
Fusion
Catalyst + BoD
RoD
BoF
Hail Storm
Storming Tempest
Firestorm
I'll throw in Thunderclap as basically an insta as it comes up.
I then basically keep those up with priority top to bottom
I'll figure out how to add manaburn in, but any tips on the rotation would be extremely helpful.
Also, how do you strategically tie in to Timewarp? Is that when you drop Sanguine Sacrifice?

thanks to all the freeport drama, you caught me in a good mood.
le FB rotationost 13 a la SacDaddy. your welcome (it's on the 2nd page in wizard forums, don't feel bad bro you weren't the only one too lazy). Only thing i'd change nowadays is incorporate flames of velious if <25% somewhere if ST.
Protip: the second you see illy macro 'Tdub in fahv bro's!' you WILL cast FB then immediately follow with freehand+cata=fusion and continue the chain.
I'll just pretend I didn't read that bullshit about MB not being used. Get bolstered/animal form, icespears/immolation, clickies, MB, 5mil+ gratz. The sooner the better so SS can regen the most and popping harvest mana pre-MB's gives you no dead time.

Best way to 'learn' this? Play your wizard in a common group and get use to their buff timings. If asshole illy is TWing out the gate well you better be FBing before MBing shouldn't you? And i'm not talkin about 'just the tips touched' getting use to, i'm talking full fledged bro's bro.
Also, you should consider time of encounter and add rotations. Ya win some ya lose some but if you have buffs you sure a shit better be top 3 or gtfo (unless BL in raid then 4 is okay).
Too much to consider? I know, should have rolled a summoner. So what to do?
1) Place face above keyboard
2) wait for VC
3) Slam face down to 'Smoke on the Water' by Deep Purple
4) ???
5) profit (gratz on 2mil+)

ThanksHate to see you in a bad mood!
Seriously though very helpful. I'll get to work on it.
This cast order is wrong. Here is the correct order:
Ice Shield as the tank leaves to pull
Frigid Gift and Sanguine Sacrifice as he is coming back
Ice Spears as soon as target comes into range
Storming Tempest
Hailstorm
(sometimes I add Incinerate and Immolation in between Ice Spears and Storming Tempest if I feel the tank needs more time to lock aggro down)
Manaburn + Harvest Mana
Fiery Blast
Whatever big hitter is still up
After that depends completely on the situation
Firestorm is situational and should never be considered part of your regular rotation unless there are multiple targets in range.
TW should be synced with Fiery Blast as often as possible. If your Illy is good he will be consistent with his TW's and you will know when things should be happening. You can also help yourself out by creating a custom trigger in ACT that creates an audible like "Timewarp in five" whenever it detects your Illy casting TW, then when TW lands another trigger will sound off something like "Timewarp now". The ideal result is if you manage to get TW to begin just before you land Fusion and have it active as you then land E'Ci so that both of them will be doubled. If you think you are the shit and your lag is minimal, you may try to get TC doubled as well.
Sanguine should be ideally active throughout both MB and FB.
Why you don't cast Ice comet / ball of fire / Rays of Disintegration as first spells ?
::: Sataro (Defiler, main)
::: Satara (Warden, alt) - NihalX (Wizzy, alt)
also some small hits while the tank positions the mob(s) can proc a cb, base, mod or w/e buff from your gear/ grp members gear.
