Is that the sig rule?

this is what i see i nthe upload area...and i understand the size/KB of it due to eating up server space... but it also gives the option to load it from another host...so uh does it ereally mater how big he has it if he hosts it off another site? You dont censor peoples words here so why there Sigs?

I always laugh when people say "But in that time people can buy plat on the_bazaar". LOL. Ok LFG, check out IGE plat price on your server, check out station exchange plat price...see much difference? Nope. Think people are not buying and selling MORE plat on the "Non-exchange" servers. YEP. So the plat argument conversion from and to real money, is an invalid argument.

A valid argument is that people can buy a toon, without the risk of being banned. Only real gaming difference in that sense. But you can get a *bought* toon on other servers without that risk(see a couple paragraphs below).

Yes I hate being stuck on one server, and being the place every other server and sell their toon too. SOE not changing that sucks. But they have their own serious problems. Their subscription numbers are like 175,000 (probably not 350,000)...compare that to 7,000,000 in WOW. EQ2 has not added a new server in years, rather it has consolidated them due to population loss/stagnation.


Myself I been playing on the_bazaar server with this main since the sever started, everything I wear , ever spell I have is earned, in leveling and raiding. My dagger of arcane rites earned , ring of superiority earned, all my procing gear earned, etc.etc.etc(Our guild doesn't sell our no drop loot either...like some guilds(*cough* Dissolution) on other servers do ;D ).[Selling no drop loot pollutes "the idea" some people are stating of "Earning" your gear..especially when plat is so easily bought on ALL servers].

Bought toons on other servers without the "risk of buying an account":
Want a level 70 toon on your account when you haven't played the game but you got real money?. Well no worries...you can hire a leveling service to do it for you, then buy your plat on IGE, then buy your droppable gear on broker, and no drop gear from dissolution. Sounds just as bad too me.

This is the rule:

M. Signatures: Your entire sig must not be larger than 130 pixels high by 600 pixels wide in total, with all graphics and text included.

That's a very generous increase over the SoE forums.

Without the rule, people make 8" tall sigs (and taller). It's mostly the HEIGHT I care about. Well, that and not making it so wide it breaks the horizontal display of people with shitty comps.

When people use 8"+ tall sigs, you only get one or two posts per page. That involves the mechanics of this site. It would be stupid to see a 1000 page thread with only 1000 posts, don't you think?

I can play games and increase the number of posts allowed per page, but then some pages would have 40 posts and take a long time to load, thus reducing performance, again for people with shitty comps or connections.

I'd rather just go with the default page breaks provided by vBulletin, and ask people to be reasonable with the size of the sigs they use so that the lowest common denominator of technology can also use this site.

I really don't care about the content of anyone's sig, as long as the sig isn't NSFW. Half our users are goofing off at a day job as they read this right now, and I need to allow them to continue doing that by keeping NSFW graphics off this site.

uhm???? ok I used to link items for EL during raids that they were selling, no-drop items. now I coulda been sky high on drugs then BUT I coulda swore I saw aaliel linking no-drop items in 60-69 trying to sell them, cos I remember there was a discussion on vent when this happened. This whole thread is fucked up and prejudiced to say the least. To put down a couple of thousand people because of the antics of one group is retarded. You are not putting down EL, you are putting down hundreds of people who have bought anything off station exchange, including myself. How about you look to the people on your own server buying accounts and plat off ebay and ign? At least the station exchange is legal according to the EULA unlike ign.

Yes we did try out selling no-drop loot, at the suggestion of some other guilds. Fewson may not have been at those raids, because for a while he wasn't raiding. I would hesitate to call lack of knowledge a lie, though.

But i'd say that if you do hate the bazaar server and EVERYBODY on the server, including the level 10 ranger from the midwest playing eq2 for the first time, that has no idea who you are, then go for it. Its not like your opinion means squat to anybody playing on the server. Is the fact that you hate us, going to mean that I get less fabled items for my dkp? Not bloody likely. Will it change whether EL trains raid mobs on us to wipe us out? Not likely. Will your opinion make it any easier to watch them exploit mobs and then have you lump us in with them as if the entire server were nothign but exploiters, when probably half your friends have bought plat from illegal websites, then go for it.

personally i dont hate SE because of EL, i hate SE cos what the server is full of, gutpig greedy fucktards. i'm sorry, of course there are good people on there, but i played on SE from day1, cos i moved there with vini, not knowing my consequences. and yeh, the server is fucked up, the mentality is fucked up. i'd rather be bobbing on ewle's fat dick then raiding or playing on SE ever again. the mentality of the people i ran into on there baffles me. take a few examples:

But yes, this server has its share of nutbags and creeps. All servers do though. The worst I ever met in game was on Guk and I have yet to see anyone who can beat him. Of course, it could just be that I don't inspire anyone to enough passion that they want to "stomp a new asshole" in my face anymore.
