As a former d12'er I gotta chime in on this one too...

I heard about this a few days ago and was thinking wow Scoundril was being a real dick... thanks for posting the convo to prove that thought wrong, he asked professionally and directly if you would change and you did say yes. It wasn't until you found out they might not fully carry you that you took offense, sorry but a little info on D12, you earn your shit there, hell it is that way most anywhere why should you be given a free ticket because it was you, OP, that wanted something.

There was no harm in asking if you would betray and if Scoundril wanted to tell ya off, trust me you would not mistake it. OP did fuck up as D12 is a solid raiding guild that gets shit done.

/sits back and waits for Kaizer to post next

Recruiter: So, do you like cupcakes?

Mortimor: Oh fuck yeah dude, love 'em, could I get some sprinkles?

Recruiter: Hmm, we can probably do sprinkles, but I think we're out of blue, only red sprinkles left.

Mortimor: That's cool man, sprinkles rawk!

Recruiter: Sprinkles are overrated tbh, I like plain frosting...

Mortimor: FUCK YOU BASTARDS!! EAT SHIT AND DIE!! /ignore /emo

I think this is kinda two sided in terms of communication gone wrong.

Yes the OP probably did overract a touch, but to look at it another way, the recruiter could have simply said something like "well we're definitely looking for an Illy, so we would need you to betray if you joined us" - he didn't *have* to include the coercer diss at the end and given the OP's responses up to that point, it seems he was mulling over the idea of betraying before the "pointless" comment got his back up.

As a warden I know what it's like to be told your class is practically worthless on a raid - and whilst it might be true, and a valid point to make - I still get upset when it gets shoved in my face.

Not everyone can be or should be so eloquent with their words, mot high end guild are rather blunt and is typical of a type "A" person.

All of this I am sure to be a mute point now.

LOL - yeah I guess you have a point - quite a few high end guild officer/leaders certainly can be, erm, "blunt" :p

You should always be prepared, especially when guild shopping, to be asked to betray. It's just a fucking fact of life for coercers and others alike.

The least you could have done is have the wherewithal to ask up front if prospective guilds would take a coercer or prefer an illusionist. That way, you're not wasting people's fucking time acting all prissy about it. And even if they do take your ass as a coercer, you should be prepared to be asked -- no, harassed -- by non-leaders to betray. It just comes with the territory.

First of all, both illusionists and coercers get mana shroud and its upgrades. Dissing that spell -- of all the fucking possible problems coercers face -- is retarded.

Second of all, this spell was changed GU38: "Mana Cloak - Removed power cost. Improved reuse speed from 15 to 3 minutes. Reduced duration from 3 minutes to 30 seconds. Increased trigger chance to 100%. Maximum of 3 triggers per person in the group." In other words, it's no longer the "shit the MT needs power" spell it once was.

We're the least-played, least-popular class, and you fail utterly at disparaging us. Congratulations.

Hmm, and here I was hoping for a nice flame. Anyways. The "pointless" part was not fully meant in the context the OP was taking it as but it WAS said that way and I will not deny that. However, personally I as expecting him to reply and he pretty much refused to at that point. My intention was to explain what I meant by that but since the OP cut off chatting, was kind of pointless.

If you got a problem bro, that's cool. I am a rather blunt person. If you take offense THAT easily, I am truly sorry for you. Perhaps next time instead of just cutting the person off, you ask them and be a bit more mature about it? As far as "backtracking" on the AD3's, I asked if you would betray if we DID give you AD3's so I would know what to tell my guild leaders conditions were. I would not expect a person to betray and foot the bill for it (this is me personally) if the recruiting guild ASKED them to betray. I told you that I could not promise it because i couldn't. I had to ask my guild leadership.

Next?

I don't really understand the flame, seemed to me like the recruiter was actually doing a pretty good job, and was pretty nice about it - I know plenty of people who have betrayed for spots in guilds, it's certainly nothing new and from the looks of it D12 is a pretty good guild and a huge step up from where the OP was currently guilded.

The whole basis of this flame has become pointless when realizing the fact that you wouldn't even last 5 seconds in D12 with your personality. Aside from the fact that we successfully raid ROK without a coercer, we wouldn't want one that can't take criticism. Your limited ability to withstand even minor criticism is unappealing as is your lame attempt to flame my guildy.

Go back to the farm stableboy.
