Re: Lucan D'Lere "Raiding" LMFAO Guilds
Not taking a personal jab at the OP because I don't know her and this is quite an amusing thread, but I thought I'd chime in with generalities because RL issues are being compared to in-game status. With that said, I'd rather be in EQ2's absolute worst guild of all-time, full of chinese farmers, hackers, whatever that can't finish T6 content than be on a path towards diabetes, obesity, increasing medical costs (which is strangling the USA's economy for example), and a shorter life span. So to see "whatever I'm fat and ugly, but your guild still sucks", I'd have to think one would be better off in a crappy guild than a overall crappy lifestyle. I don't find that insult to be so insulting. Kinda like "I might have warts and cold sores all over my face, but at least my EQ2 toon doesn't wear blue armor!" It just doesn't sting, but the main post with in-game issues seems to sting quite a few people heh. Strap a laptop to a treadmill and get to walkin'!

I think most guilds on LDL really believe that they can never clear T8, and that pisses me off.
Suggestion for improvement: Ween LDL from the overflowing tit of loot, and let them find their own way to success.

I'm not sure what Strike you're referring to here (at least in your "Suggestion for improvement"), because it definitely isn't the same Strike I'm a Senior Member of. I have rarely seen Strike hand out current tier raid loot to those not associated with our guild and therefore have a hard time understanding your assumption that Strike provides this "overflowing tit of loot" (humorous phrase though) . Could you elaborate or provide some examples?
Do some people in Strike attempt to verbally demoralize other guilds to the point that they believe they can never clear T8?...perhaps or even the opposite could be true, that the smack-talk from some in Strike is intended to motivate (albeit maybe not by the best means) other guilds to push harder to progress.
Does Strike give out raid strats, loot, or offer special assistance to other guilds?...Not that I have seen in-game at any noteworthy level (and I'm online a lot) or by anything presented here.
Do or have Strike members joined pick-up raids or groups? Of course. We are playing an online game to enjoy the game with other people. When we are not raiding; Strike people group and occasionally raid (usually lower tier zones or expansions though) with people outside our guild. There are no rules against it and I don't see how you equate normal interaction with others on our server to enabling. But I'd like to understand what brought you to this erroneous conclusion.

I would be interested in hearing what positive (or good) result you would expect from your original post (other than perhaps the release of pent up stress or anger.) Not that I'm saying there isn't, you will ultimately be the judge of that, I just can't see your comments endearing anyone to you or creating any positive outcome for you, LDL, or anyone else. I have honestly never heard of you until this post and if your intent was to make yourself more known, I would venture to guess that you've succeeded for at least as long as this thread holds anyone's interest. Beyond that, I really can't see any good coming from it.
Safe Journeys.

Well, you haven't been reading all the posts, but that's ok. I wouldn't either. Regardless, I agree and I would rather have people in a guild who had great RL qualities than be in a guild with people who were talented at the game.

I think a lot of guilds use the interdependent nature of the game as an excuse for a wide range of incompetence. Some, not all, guild leaders use people's fear of being unable to get loot or a group by themselves as a way to control them, keep them stuck, and maintain a tight reign on membership numbers.
Also, people get themselves stuck in shitty guilds because somewhere along the way they started believing that they didn't diserve better, or worse, that better didn't exist.
I do not think that my post will change anyone, but it did change who was contacting me in game, and why. And that is definitely a positive.

Actually Xeather, I've done quite a bit of reading in this thread, so that is why I spoke in terms of generality than aiming it at you, me, or anyone else ;) I did you see you are doing the exercise thing and that's great. It was my fair attempt at an open-ended opinion.
