Frankly, I fail to see how ANYTHING in EQII serves to "build character".

My experience shows quite the opposite, in fact. The soul-sucking nature of this game takes fundamentally good people down a shit-filled rabbit hole designed to bring out the worst we all have as part of our human nature.

Only those with keen insight will see this. And even then, most won't acknowledge it to themselves, much less each other.

Gotta hand it to SOE - they've done a helluva job creating an environment that takes smart people away from making any kind of real contribution to what truly matters.
