Whether you stay or go is up to you Elaine, but honestly, with the type of posting that goes on here, I think your skin is thicker than that. You need opossing views like mine here, just like we need opossing views in NGD.

I actually like Hazel, and thats why I responded kindly to her. We've talked alot in PM's around the "great crusade" time, and I do like her.

Its not so much that I'm "offended" or had my feelings hurt. It just gets tiresome to see my posts ignored time after time after time. So why bother even trying anymore, the result always ends up the same.

Frankly, the only people who should be "fixing" anything are balanced, unbiased moderators without the potential for conflict of interest. It is not, nor should it be, your, or any other "civilian" poster's job to "fix" things. And if it becomes your job out of necessity, then people aren't doing THEIR job.

What I find interesting is statements like that, "following the habits of older posters". You keep saying that things are changing, and that this was the NGD of old, and it's not like that anymore.

I appreciate your efforts to clean the place up, but for all you talk about how it's not like that any more, and things are improving, I find statements such as:

to be...remarkably telling.

Now I don't care if the place is full of nonsense. Personally it's not a place I enjoy, as I grow tired of asinine pretty fast, but if that's the type of community people want to have, then that's their choice. What bothers me is that the history of the place has left people feeling wrongly empowered to basically derail/flame any post where they just don't happen to like the OP or the topic.

And new posters are coming in, and seeing that, and, as you say, following the histories of the old. Well it's good you are trying to change that, but as I said, the fact that you have to is just indicative that somebody isn't doing their job, and they need to get people whose job it IS to do so, and do it in a way without potential conflicts of interest.

NGD is a mish mesh of weird crap that is all interlinked at some point. The more you post, the more you will be recognized (in a good way :smiley-tongue: ). Just like here there are just certain people you avoid responded too and things are fine.

I'm sorry Elaine, I understand your frustration, but to be perfectly honest, you are KNOWN as someone who doesn't approve of NGD. How many of those folks do you think are going to listen to you when all they know about you, is how much you disapprove of them?

But see.... that's the thing. Its not that i disapprove of them. I've always said that to have a forum for silliness and funny topics that don't have to do with the game. My main complaint is that it shouldn't be self-moderated, that the moderaters SHOULD deal with blatant derailing because a topic isn't "funny" or with the spam of really useless crap just to get a topic off the front page, all things I've seen done.

But everyone reads that as "She hates NGD and its posters." I don't. I do read it almost every day, and I do participate on threads that aren't deliberately stupid, but almost every post I've written was basically "glazed over" or outright ignored because i'm "that anti-NGD chick." And that just isn't me.

*sigh* If you don't like a post in the NGD, report it. Raijinn sees those and as a moderator he may do as he chooses with em. If he chooses not to do anything then *shrugs* such is life, let it go. It's just a forum, right?

The posts in question weren't offensive enough to report. But I did ask as nicely as I could to please stop making fun of those girls because they appeared to be happy and confident in what they were doing, and my post was blatantly ignored and then derailed. Now the derailing was not my gripe, because it was minimal and I participated in it, and even called attention to the fact that we had derailed, but when they ignored my request to stop being rude about the way those girls looked, I just got upset. I know Radar tried to "fix" it but I shouldn't need his "validation" to my point to get the point across.

Simply put, I'm not well liked there, and as such, they took my nicely phrased requested and ignored it. I won't be posting again, its clear "they" don't want me there.

Generally, people don't like being told what to do by their playmates. If you want the option of policing, you should ask Brenlo if he has a spot open. ;)

Didn't we all go through this in highschool? The student that was always telling the class to quiet down when the teacher had stepped out was the one that got all the spitballs in their hair. You've gone out of your way to tell everyone how wrong they are, why would they want you around?

I don't even know most of those people that now post in the NGD, (I'm too busy to post as much regularly) but I can still see how it's working. You've become the hall monitor, and ya don't even have the red name backing and nifty perks that come with it.

/sigh I wasn't gonna post here and I'm probably gonna regret it, but it seams fairly civil for the moment, and I can fix the typo out of my forum name here.

Who is "they"? If you wanna post in NGD go for it. I'm not stalking you I just remeber you and was suprised to see you post there as well as a tad skeptical. Your post was a derail of a derail, of a post that was a derail, which you dereailed. Did they ignore you because you are you or because they are guys and guys are generally pigs? /shrug I'm not them, so I don't know. If you don't like something posted, ignore it and move on.

Oh and for the record, yes I'm have a level caped toon, no I don't raid. Not that I see how that is relevant to the price of tea in China, but its apparently and issue to some.
